      Hi, I'm Spencer.

Hello, I'm new (needless to say) I looked at this forum alot and I like it. I only had a few lucid dreams but I hope to change that. I got a question.

I try the "telling yourself you will go lucid" but it tends not to work and the times I did go lucid I don't think I did that. I thinking of conducting an experiment with this. I guess its more of a statement then question, but I still want your opinon.
      Hello, goodbye, and more.

I find that when I suggest stuff to my subconcious then it may more likeley happen if I don't. Because it sticks in your mind. Ive attained lucidity by suggesting that I would before sleeping, but it wasnt for very long. also when I suggest things like i'll wake up at a certain time, it usually happens.
Dreaming is forgetting the basis of reality, remembering it is to be lucid.

      Hey Spencer, welcome to Dreamviews!
In my opinion, telling yourself you'll become lucid should help a little bit. But just telling yourself you will probably won't get you a lot of LDs. If you like the idea of suggesting to yourself, try MILD, or maybe even HILD. These stand for Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream and Hypnosis Induced Lucid Dream. They're both in the Tutorials section.

      Hi Spencer and welcome

As long as you repeat the phrase, it will be rehearsed more in your head, and become easier to remember. After a while it should pop into your head while you are dreaming. However the time it takes can't be said as everyone is different.

      Hey Spencer and welcome

I did some searching on dream guides and found pretty much no info. I have seen it mentioned on these forums before so keep looking but i'll try to answer it the best i can. A dream guide is a character in your dreams that is a source of wisdom to your and helps you find answers to deep questions about yourself and that kind of thing. It could be the old wise man with a beard kind of thing or it could be very different such as a young girl or even an animal. This character is someone who may be in multiple dreams and you use them to help you understand life, the universe, where we came from, etc. I heard that to find your dream guide you could go into a lucid dream and say that your dream guide will be on the other side of a door and then open the door and they might be there. Another way is to ask another dream character to show you your dream guide. I hope this helps and welcome again and good luck with the lds.
