      SP, then what?

      Hey, once again.

Through practice twice a day (Before I go to sleep, and about 4AM) I am now able to achieve SP quite easily. I can now get it in less than 20 minutes, and I can actually tell when I'm in SP now.

However, what then? As I said in a previous topic, I get green swirls, but that's it. I lay there until I either fall asleep or try an RC and find out I'm awake. It's not that I'm not waiting long enough, as looking at the clock reveals that I had been laying there for well over an hour.

I've tried picturing a scene in as much detail as possible, but it doesn't work all that well. While in SP, I find it extremely hard to focus on anything. I just sorta, float there clear of most thought. I've also noticed that sometimes when I attempt to picture a scene, I'm suddenly on my side several minutes later, if that makes any sense.

You might consider picturing a scene from your favorite book, or a location in real life that you visit often. Otherwise, if the RC thing is a problem, try sticking your tongue though the roof of your mouth or tightening your throat to see if you can still breath.

Not sure what else to suggest, since getting sucked into a pre-determined setting is how I handle WILDs.

How long have you been trying this? Practice makes perfect, as they say.

I haven't been trying to WILD for all that long. About a week or so doing it steady.

Are you sure moving your tongue won't kill SP? I have always been afraid to swallow while attempting it, and it gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. Also, by pre-determined, do you mean you plan it out in advance and try and think of something, or it sorta just comes to you?

I've never had a problem swallowing when waiting for SP, typically I don't have a problem with anything above my neck. Hell, whenever I put it off for too long my body swallows involuntarily. :p

Pre-determined just means it's someplace you want to be, as opposed to something totally random. It might help to plan out what you want to do beforehand, it can be pretty fun to dream up (NPI) a location from scratch that you want to visit before ever going to bed, and it might help with the level of detail, which in turn helps induce lucidity.
