Some questions on my first LD!

Yes everyone, it has finally happened, but I have some questions, firstly though, I will explain the dream.

Through some amaing coincidence, I managed to sleep for 6 hours, get up for 1, and go back to bed again, without me meaning to do it. After I got to sleep, I entered my dream world. I was walking down a street, and I find a car, with the back window broken, with a very very drunk Ashton Kutcher flopping out of it trying to throw measly punches at me. I started to say "Calc down mate, you've had a bit to drink", but he persisted. At this point, the scene changed to my room, and he was on my bed, but I didn't notice the change. He grabbed my leg, and started pulling me, trying to attack me. I started to get worried, and started shouting "Help! Help!", by which point, my throat was closing up (which happens relativelly often in my dreams). It was then that I figured that this was a dream.

I started throwing him around the room with my mind power to ensure I was dreaming (I was so pissed off at him, what else could I do? ). I then tried levitating out of my bed, and it worked. I was finally lucid.

I ran outside, and started jumping around, getting a feel for my body. I did a few frontflips, backflips, tried to fly (failed), met some in-dream characters, and saw my dog chasing after me. Everything was extremely realistic, more realistic than all my other dreams anyway.

But, then something weird happened. I entered this weird phase. I started feeling lghtheaded, then my head started to float up and down, pulling the rest of my body with it, as if I was under water or something. I then got a really tingly feeling around my body. I didn't mind it much apart from in my stomach, where I thought my clothes were on weird, and I couldnt fix them cos I was sleeping. It started to get really unpleasant around my stomach, so I simply thought "OK, I've been lucid, now my clothes are really annoying me, I think I'll just wake up and fix 'em". And so I did, and yes, my T-Shirt was all wrapped around me really tight because I was rolling in my bed.

      Now, onto the questions:

      1) How did I LD? Was it:
      - - a) Pure luck/practice?
      - - b) That I recignised that my throat only closes when I dream
      - - c) That I slept for 6 hours, woke up for 1, and slept again (I hope it's not this one)

      2) I didn't get full control of my dream, i.e. my dog, some characters, failing to fly, etc (Not that I mind), but does it mean anything, or is it normal?

      3) What on Earth was that phase I entered near the end of my dream. In my dream world I thought it was a WILD, but now that I think about it, I dont think so. Whatever it was, it was very weird, and had my T-Shirt not been on weird, I would have been interested to find out what happened from there on.

And thank you to all the people who helped me have my first LD

      Cheers

      Hi,

      1) It was a DILD. I would say that you got lucid because of what seems to be your Dream Sign, the throat thing. But you can never know for sure. If it happens a lot, you should start having more and more LDs. With time even DSs get replaced, at least that's what happened in my case, so enjoy while you still have it .

      2) The amount of control in LDs differs, so yeah it's normal. It probably has something to do with how lucid, aware you are and how much you believe in "your power".

      3) I have no idea what the thing at the end was. If I had to guess again, I'd say it was a mixture of waking up, Sleep Paralysis, Hypnagogic hallucinations ...

      Oh and congratulations!

      2) I don't think anyone has full controll in there first LD. Its normal.
      3) I'm not sure.

While there is a criminal element, I am of it.

Hey, though you may have gotten lucky with your DILD you have to be careful of getting stressed if you do not have a lucid dream, if you expect them and wake in the morning and not remember a lucid the stress will only decrease your chances of having future lucids. Good Luck though, you have every chance.

Hmm, I actually dont want to ever really have *full* control. I didn't mind finding things that I didn't expect. If I had to control everything, it would be sorta like having to pulse my own heart and work my digestion. Besides, you lose the element of suprise, heh.

Thing is, even though I only get that in dreams, and I remember when I get them, I don't actually get them that often. It's just through my life I remember having quite alot, but they are quite far apart. Let's hope that I can get used to LDing without this.
