      Hey, I'm a Newbie!

Hey. I signed up for this site mainly because my friend has a problem. He has been having a recurring dream and I really want to help him with it. I'm going to post a thread in the dream interpretation forum so hopefully someone can help us with this one. Anyways, the site looks cool and I hope to stay active!

      Hey there and welcome!

People should bee a good help with your friend's dream.

What is your experience with lucid dreaming by the way? It's well worth giving a go.

This is going to sound really dumb but what exactly is Lucid Dreaming? I dream a lot (almost every night) but I'm not really sure what one is.

A lucid dream is a dream where you know that you're dreaming.

Once people 'become lucid' (realize that they're dreaming) a whole world of possibilities opens up. It's kind of like a self-contain world in your mind where, with a little practice, you can do anything.

It's really quite cool and they can be used for lots of different things. Some people like to fly for example (it feels really real), others like to live out fantasies that they'd never do in real life, some people explore the worlds made by their dreams. Really, there's an infinite amount of things to do.

I have had many dreams like that. Actually, almost every time I dream I can control it. A lot of times I just like it to work itself out without me changing it, kinda like a movie. But some times I like to change things. I can talk on my own in dreams. I kind of imagine them like video games. When things get bad or boring I always change them to something I like better. I think the reason my dreams are like this is because I have dreamed almost every night since I was about 7 and I am still a kid (14 by the way). Is this normal for me?

People dream every night, it's just remembering them which is the problem for many.

As for if this is normal? A vast minority of people have natural lucid dreams most of the time (very lucky people might I say), your skill at remembering dreams is probably what makes them more common for you. But yes, it's quite normal.

Here we have all sorts of help and guidance for people to make the most of these dreams, so it's well worth looking and trying if you can do it.

Just out of curiosity, with your dreams, are you yourself in them or is it like you're watching something? You said it was like a movie, so that's what makes me ask.

Well, the ones I cannot control are like I'm watching a movie. I only get them like 2 times a month. Most of my dreams I am in can control. The reason I said they were like a movie is because if I just go along with what everyone tells me to do it's like a movie because I see what is supposed to happen. It's like I make them into a movie by doing what people tell me.

      Does that help?

      Yeah it does, thanks.

I was just curious because people often talk about having lucid dreams where they're just stuck watching.

Seems like you've not got that problem.

Care to share any of your experiences with us? This forum here (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=13) is a good place to tell people about them.

Also, if you keep a dream journal (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=26) you'll find you remember you dreams in much more detail and when you wake up they'll feel so much more real.

Check those places out, they're quite interesting.

Cool, I'll make sure to post in the top link next time I have a Lucid one. I think I dream journal is a good idea. I've started one on my own a long time ago but gave up on it because I didn't have time. I guess I will start one here. Thanks!

I have a question, where do you think dreams come from?
