Maybe its just because I have never experienced a successful WILD, but I can't see how this works properly... Here is why I say this:

The majority of Lucid Dreams happen in REM sleep, when the brain is in its most creative state while sleeping. But, from what I understand, you do not enter REM sleep until 4 or 5 hours into your night.

When you induce from a waking state, you basically observe yourself falling asleep, in real time (or so I think it all happens in real time). Within 30 minutes, you should be exploring your very own dream world. Does the WILD process actually shorten the time it takes to achieve REM sleep?

It just doesnt seem like you would have the same kind of dream or quality using the WILD technique as you would if you did a reality check in a dream. Am I full of newbie BS?

Anyway you put it, I want to have success in inducing a WILD, because from what I hear, they're just wild.(excuse corny humor) I have troubles once I start to see flashes, I get excited and I cant keep my eyes closed without effort, and I lose concentration. How do I keep myself from waking back up?
