      Hi Everyone

Hi everyone. I've been reading the forum since I heard about lucid dreaming from a friend about a week ago. I've read most of the tutorial posts about WILD, MILD and so on. I seem to have pretty bad dream recall so i've started a dream journal. I'm 18 and going to be starting college soon and have pretty much no experience with lucid dreaming. Just figured I'd say "hi" and thank you all for providing such a great online resource.

Hey welcome to the forums. It's great that you found the information on the site to be useful.

It sounds like you're on the right track. Keep up with your dream journal and pretty soon you will see improvements in your recall. Ask any of the dreamguides or members here if you need any help.

Heading off to college soon huh? Excited?

Hey, you've actually been reading the forum longer than me, but welcome!

College is a lot to take in at first, so dreaming might not be on your mind. At first I tried to take a journal without anybody asking questions, but I realized that other people are interested in dreams too! Don't be afraid to explain what you're doing and what lucid dreams are, it shows how interesting you are and it's a great way to start a conversation.

Hah, yea I am. But I'm expecting to be way to overwhelmed at first to be able to concentrate on LD'ing for awhile. I'd love it if I could have one or two before leaving. The dream journal seems to be helping with my recall. I found telling myself that "I will remember all my dreams tonight" before falling asleep seems to help me remember them. I've pretty constantly been able to remember one full dream to exact detail and then usually the end of a second. I'm sure it will improve in time. Anyway I'll keep you all posted.

Hey there, welcome to Dream Views!

You know, if you're worried about being overwhelmed and not having the time, keeping a dream journal and reality checks only take a few minutes a day. Talking a simple approach could be best in that situation.

But of course, the other techniques are fun to learn if you have time.
