      Super Vivid Dreams

I have super vivid dreams, so vivid I sometimes do not realize it was a dream. My dreams will have plots and sub-plots with reoccurring characters and consequences for actions. Sometimes I will do things in my dream that will affect something that happens what seems like hours later in a completely new dream. Right when I first wakeup I sometimes remember my dreams like it was something that just happened to me in real life, full of details like peoples names, places we were at, the color of peoples clothes, layouts of places that do not change as the dream goes on. For example I might leave my keys in a spot in my house and they will be in that same spot much later in the dream if I am looking for them. I was wondering if anyone else dreams like this?

As for lucid dreams I used to have them a lot when I was younger (Middle School) but I did not even know what a lucid dream was until later. I was probably A level 7-8 and maybe some aspects of level 9, I could control myself and make somethings happen but other things were out of my control, it was a long time ago I do not remember very well.

Recently I have not been actively trying to have lucid dreams, however I have done some reality checks while in dreams and awake but I have not been successful, I usually pass the RC in my dreams because they are so vivid. One thing I have heard is to read something and see if it makes sense and then read it again and see if it still makes sense, I have tried that but it almost always makes perfect sense both times. One time I went around in a dream thinking it was an odd day but that there was NO WAY it was a dream because everything was so real, I woke up and kicked myself.

Something more recent that has happened to me a few times is that I realize I am dreaming but it never occurs to me to try and take control.

I also sometimes start to dream before I fall asleep and keep dreaming after I wake up, it is very strange and nothing really makes sense until I fully wake up, the dream world and the real world merge in some kind of fog. Sometimes if I fall back asleep my dream will continue where I left off.

One more odd thing that sometimes happens is that I will listen to a song before bed and wake up with the song still in my head, like I was humming it all night long in my sleep.

Well that is all for now I am sure I forgot something, I would appreciate any comments or similar experiences.

      Hey, firstly welcome to DV!

I have super vivid dreams, so vivid I sometimes do not realize it was a dream
That is the problem for most of us who are trying to learn to lucid dream.

Your post has a lot of information, and I'm sorry if I miss something important! Well it seems like you have some trouble separating the dream world from reality, which should be remedied as soon as possible. Not all reality checks will work for you.. you need to experiment with them all and find the one that suits you best. For me, the nose RC never fails.. the one where you hold your nose and try to breathe through it. It does fail for some others though, so you just have to test them all.

Yeah I did something ismilar in my last dream. It was so vivid that I actually thought "if this was a dream, I'd do this and this".

My reflection is perfect on the mirror, no matter from where I look... I feel my feet as I step.... the few incohesivenesses are lack of gravity or lacking of expected things (such as being wet after getting out of water).

My dreams got so vivid lately.. I wonder if it has to do with LDing?

But I guess it's easier to RC when you're in a vivid dream. That's why you must Rc even if you are 140% sure it's reality. You do it and BAM it's a dream

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

I get these really vivid dreams when I've been keeping up a dream diary. Sometimes even my dreams have been so amazingly real that my reality checks have failed. (As in once my hands looked normal etc. not meaning that I justified weird reality checks, just that things were like reality)! Sometimes I find though, in my dreams I won't look at my feet/hands in my side vision... but I don't realise that until I wake up and it's not a reliable enough dream sign.

Yeah, I get super vivid dreams as well. sometimes I get Lucid because they are way more vivid than real life. And I know it has to be a dream because the real world is never that vivid. That mostly happens when I am looking at a beautiful landscape scene.or a brilliantly colorful sunset.

Try not to make the mistake, of deciding it's not a dream, because of how real it is. That happens to me every now and then too. If you are waking up for real, and still in a dream somehow. (I'm not sure how that works) But you better be real careful, to know for a fact it's a dream. That sounds like it could be dangerous.
