      help with...

Hi, im new in this boat and...
I need help to start dreaming..
i seem to fall asleep but i dont get any dreams.. not often..
and when i start dreaming i only gain control in 2 of 5, when i gain control its always just a minute before i wake up or before i reach a certain blockade in that certain dream...

Ive tried listening to some music that is meant to "guarantee" a lucid dream, with no success.

id like to know a method to return to a old dream, a dream that i remember clearly as a sunny day...

so if someone care to post their most favorite method to get a lucid dream or actually start dreaming.. please post it

Hi there, welcome aboard this boat.

First up, you always dream if you sleep long enough, every 90 minutes or so, when an REM period comes along. Now remembering dreams, that's another problem. Many find that keeping a journal of the dreams they remember leads to them remembering more and more dreams in greater detail. Going to bed in the mindset that you'll remember dreams helps a lot to, try thinking to yourself that you will remember your dreams while going to sleep. It really helps.

Now, gaining control in 2 of 5, I take it this is becoming lucid? If so that's a great ratio! The dreams will eventually last longer in time, try doing things like rubbing your hands together and spinning, it can make the dreams last longer.

Personally I find keeping a dream journal and doing reality checks works well for getting lucid dreams.

Have you tried Wake Back To Bed (WBTB)? I think it might be good for you, dreams are longer and easier to remember later in the night, so give this technique a go, it could help you a lot. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=5397

      Good luck.

      Hmm, thanks.
      one more question..
how is it possible that ive returned to the same dream three times within 12 hours?
i woke up after sleeping 7 hours, fell asleep 10-15 minutes later, woke up 3 hours later and fell asleep shortly after that and woke up 2 hours later... same dream.. always.. i just got more control each time(Control of walking and moving my arms and talking..)

maybe there is a method to make this happen again? (before i fell asleep i had'nt slept in 2 days)

Yeah I get that sometimes, reentering a dream after falling asleep again. I had it put into 3 parts. Really cool thing.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

      one more question..(Again)

I cant seem to understand if its a dream or not.. even if i know that im going to dream before i sleep... becouse when im dreaming.. its like im not able to think, its just actions without control.. like its not me dreaming.. its my sub-consious..

any tips? my dream signs so far hasnt helped that much..
and yes i am doing a dream journal just not online, but it doesn't seem to improve anything.. only the capability to remember dreams ive already written down..

I think I can speak for many people when I say that we are somewhat stupider in our non-lucid dreams (I think it has to do with certain parts of our brain that are shut down while we sleep), therefore most of our dream actions are based on impulse and common sense rather than rational thinking. That's why most DILD techniques (reality checks, repeating stuff before falling asleep,...) are meant to make us start thinking while we dream, so that we can realise that we are dreaming through deductive reasoning and proceed on controlling the dream.

I find that the most effective ways to get myself to think in my dreams are to flood my mind with thoughts about dreaming and to question reality for no specific reason during the day. Even then though, DILDs remain unpredictable at best, that's why I'm learning the WILD technique .
