      LD'ing but not...

I know the topic doesn't make since but I don't know if these are Lucid dreams. I'll know that i'm dreaming but some part of me gets caught up in things or something because it's like I don't have control of myself in the dream it's sort of weird. How can I stop this from happening?

It's quite common in the first few or more lucid dreams, and can still happen to me even today after so many lucid dreams.
My advice is, go with what happens, this prolongs the lucid experience, so that when you yourself naturally learn to scurry away from the thing preoccupying you, you can have a long time to do what you wish.
If you don't want to wait for you to naturally get over it, you might want to replay a scenario in your head before going to sleep of what you want to do as soon as you get lucid, maybe some auto suggestion?

Wel if you ever feel liike your losing your lucidness, try doing a few stabalising techniques, for example try rubbing your hands or looking at your hands. OR just take a few seconds to think about the dream, trying to clear your mind.

You could try spinning but chances are you'll most likely teleport somewhere in the dream.

My recall is at best mediocre... but by repeating "I will remember my dreams" before bed last night, I remembered 6 full-length dreams with great detail. It may be placebo... but it works
