      Helppppppppppppppppppp :(

I cant lucid dream anymore. I am going through a divorce and I cant sort my mind out. I cant relax or meditate anymore. My mind is such a scramble of thoughts. Has anyone got any ideas.

I used to post here ages ago but never really got out of the Newbie Zone.

      Right, divorce, stressful time.

Stress is such a huge problem for LDs, but not enough to really stop them altogether. My advice you you would be to try and force yourself to reality check when you cand and more importantly, to set adide half an hour before going to bed and half an hour after waking up to relax and get your head together. Chill out, listen to some music, write your dream journal if you remember anything or meditate.

I really find this approach helps when I'm all stressed out.

What Alex said, and also try to take your things as easy as possilbe.
Don't expect too much during such a stressful time, knowing that it is only temporary.
Don't take on your self anything else apart for what is nassasary unless it's something cool and relaxing. Just hang on there, things are bound to improve after a while, and then you can become very good at lucid dreaming.

I would have yourself some "Me" time and do what it is you like to do. Do you like to run? bike? swim? I would do the activities and things that you like to do this would not only make you happier, but it might also in turn lower your stress. There are also a number of incense that you may want to buy Lavender I think it was reduces stress and induces relaxation so you might want to give that a try as well.

Thank you guys. I actually love swimming and cycling, but was feeling too down to do it! I will make myself do some things and try all your suggestions!

      Smile

Yes, stress can certainly be a LD Killer and also Recall Killer. Once I lost my recall I got no chance of a DILD it seems. The best thing to do would be to try to de-stress if you can.

Divorce must be real tough thing to go through but if it's in the works and your definately sure you want to go your seperate ways then it's time to draw a line in the sand and say it's time to go on with my new life and do your best not to think about the negatives of the past.

If your ex partner is trying to make things tough for you then when he does smile and think I am soon gonna be rid of you and think about all the great things you are going to be doing, especially enjoying a single life for a change, finding a new and better person etc...

Just do whatever relaxes you and think about the future - maybe a summer break or short holiday or trip. Lifes too short for stress and stress just comes from thinking about the wrong things in a negative kind of way - look at all the postives there must be a lot!

      Hey vegan,

Actually, my advice would be to take a break from lucid dreaming. It WILL come back - you have more important things to deal with now. As you get those taken care of, your stress will wind down.

If you don't think you could completely let it go for a while, just concentrate on recalling dreams. This way you're still active in the process and keeping up your journal. Who knows, you might have a lucid by chance!

      Good luck!

Thanks for the advice guys! Got the decree nisi (first part) of the divorce in the other day, so its nearly over! I had the nearest thing to a lucid dream I have had in a long time the other day. Just a very clear, concise dream that I woke myself up from, so maybe I am calming down a bit.
