How long did it take you?

I was wondering how long it took you to getr lucid dreams (obviously it varies) and I would like to know exactly what you did. Also, how often do you have lucid dreams?

Also, how are you supposed to remember dreams? Wouldn't that depend on when you wake up?

      Hey bluepanther

Well i had my first lucid dream a week or two after i found out about it and my progression has been fairly slow over the past 8 months and its only just picking up now, i'm starting to understand it more but thats just me, there are many people who have a lucid on there first night and continue to have regular lucids, its pretty cool.

I find that i can remember dreams from different REM periods without having to even to write them down when waking up after the dreams which i seem to be able to do naturally now, but my thoughts will wander throughout the day and as soon as i run into something i have dreamt about it will hit me and i'll remember the dream, its strange. The key to remembering dreams is to put out the intention to remember them at first and you may remember a long vivid dream, you may remember a tiny detail, no matter how big or how small the details are, write them down, it will definately help you out, if you remember nothing the first night don't give up, try again, you will become sucessful if you stick with it. It shouldn't take long to start remembering regular dreams though. I wish you the best of luck

Hey there, welcome (I don't believe I said that in your other topic).

I did have a post written, whixh was lost in a crash, lovely. For your second question, Lucid Seeker has pretty much explained what you need to know there. Can I just add that it's not uncommon to wake up for bried moments after dreams anyway, so if you're worried about not waking up and remembering; don't be.

As for how long it took me? I was lucky in that I got my first LD the night I first found out about them, though I didn't get regular ones for a good few months.

What are the vibrations associated with WILD? Does that mean its working, and that you will recognize your dreams? Also, what are SDFD's and HI's (I dont know what they are exactly called, but they are acronyms)

The vibrations are part of the stage in a WILD, they vibrations don't help you recognise your dreams but indicate that you are entering a WILD. I'm not sure about SDFD's but HI stands for hynogogic imagery which is the imagery you will experience when entering a WILD or maybe when exiting a dream, it is a bit like watching a light show, different shapes flying around you and colours passing by, i've never experienced it myself but people have told me it has been like that for them.

Xyn, for your vibrations, this would be the part after sleep paralysis i guess and you were probably just about to enter HI by my guess but unfortunately i'm not a master of WILDs so i may not be able to offer the best help.

Im not exactly clear on WILDing, but isnt it when you tell your brain you will know when you are dreaming or is it like this? http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?p=476233

For those of you who dont want to read it, is wilding when your brain falls asleep when you are awake?
