Ever laughed when trying to WILD

IM pretty new, only found out about LDing yesterday actually. But i tried WILDing last night, without previously haveing any sleep before hand.
I belive i got somewhere however.
Laid counting, one am i dreaming, 2 am i dreaming... until about 90. i started to tingle all over, and gathered a shortness of breath. i couldnt help but to smile, i was excited, i heard dogs barking in the room, although i dont have dogs :S. then i felt heavy, and lost my sence of touch, and began "falling through my mattress"... thats wen i burst out laughing which ended the experience. How far away would you say i was to WILDing?
i tried again later, but just kept falling asleep lol. I also managed to recored down 6 dreams, with about a paragraph for each

I actually laughed out loud when reading the thread title. In answer to the question, nope. I haven't even achieved a WILD yet.

Very odd that you started laughing, but it's best to WILD in the early morning after getting a few hours of sleep. But it does look like you were getting somewhere though.

Yes, I sometimes want to laugh when the hypnagogic sounds are songs with nonsense lyrics
I broke one or two WILDs that way.
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)

Well this is a change of scenery compared to all the "scared of WILD" posts . During a WILD attempt, our body feels all sorts of things that it's not used to feeling. Just keep trying and eventually you'll get used to the feelings and they won't bother you as much . Also, it's better to try a WILD after a few hours of sleep, or else you'll just lay there seemingly forever until the REM period kicks in...

well the easiest way for me to get to sleep, without even trying to LD, is to lay completely still, but this time i tried keeping my brain awake, and hey, it only took 90 breaths! i did try after 5 hours sleep, but i found then that i was too tired to keep my self awake lol. haha yep, theres nothig to be scared of though, nothing can happen to you

It sounds like you reached the onset of sleep paralysis. The problem with WILDing when you first go to bed is that it takes about 90 minutes for the REM period to start. So what usually happens is that you end up stuck in SP for 90 minutes before the dream imagery starts to form, which is boring as hell... However, if you try WILDing after having slept for a few hours, you jump right into REM sleep and the dream comes much quicker. Simply put, WBTB is to lucid dreaming what gasoline is to a fire .

What does the tingling feeling feel like? I've experienced sort of a tingling feeling and it's made my leg twitch before but that was about it.

It's impossible to describe the feelings of a WILD, because they vary so much from person to person. Personally, I don't feel any tingling. I feel my body start to go numb (starting from the tips of my fingers and toes and moving towards the center of my body), and once in SP, I feel a "rush" every now and then.

How long do you stay in SP before entering your dream? I've never achieved WILD mostly because when I set my alarm in the middle of the night I'm so tired I turn it off without thinking. But this morning I WILDed by accident, I started to vibrate a little and then heard this very loud sound of glass shattering which gave me a fright and it stopped.
