      Wild

Today, I hat a try at a WBTB/WILD combo. I went to bed at 2 am and woke up at 6 am, sounds okay.

So I layed out my bed and turned the alarm clock off, keeping my eyes shut. I tried getting into a more comfortable position and lay there.

I must have been laying there for half an hour, when I slowly started feeling heavy and my limbs became sort of numb, but nothing more. No visual images or physical sensations. No colors, voices, noises. After an hour, still nothing was going on. I was relaxed, yes, I was it all the time, but nothing happened besides the feeling in my limbs. After one and a half hour I had to cancel, because it got a bit noisy outside.
It was my first WILD, but any tips or thoughts what I could've done wrong?

You started to enter SP, but at that point your mind was probably too occupied with thought, and you weren't relaxed enough to begin the hypnogogic stage. You are at the hardest part of a WILD: finding the balance between focusing enough to stay conscious, and relaxing enough to begin entering the dreamstate.

I would recommend trying to WILD after about 6 hours sleep as you will be in your longer stages of REM sleep then and have more chances of dreaming and becoming lucid. A great tutorial you can try is here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=37749

One thing, not everybody gets the same hypnagogic sensations when starting out. For instance, I NEVER saw any images behind my eyelids or heard any sounds at first... yet I got a ton of vibrations and weird tacticle sensations. When starting with WILD, I think it's best to focus on the HI you do have. Not to worry, though; with time and practice, I think we all start to get all of the various HI, as in visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. I know I'm starting to seem some faint visual HI and hear some sounds, which is definitely more than I used to experience.

Just keep trying; you WILL experience some sort of HI eventually, and this will be when you successfully enter SP. Don't give up.

I'll never give it up, that's for sure.

Thanks for all the advice, I guess I'll try it again tonight.

Hey and what I didn't mention is that I still remembered three non-lucid dreams tonight. The funny thing was the third one: I was walking across a meadow with a friend and a lot of trees next to us and also some steel construction were heavily damaged by storm. Then I woke up and it was stormy as hell outside =D
