      Lightbulb How Close was I?

      Hey,
This is my one of my first posts
I tried my first lucid experiance with a WILD. I laid down with my hands at my side and earplugs in. after a while I saw streaks of light and some ball's of light come over my vision. Then, (everything was pretty black) I began to see a darker black begin to roll over my vision in waves. Then I got a tingle all over my body, and for about 5 miniutes I felt almost weightless amongst other strange feelings. But then I got excited about what was happening and I lost the feeling. I tryed to get it back but I couldnt and I opened my eyes.

      I was just wondering...
How close was I to entering the "Dream World"? the whole experiance lasted about 17min.

PS: OMFG I felt SO rested when I opened my eye's!

      Thanks,
      DILD: 7 WILD: 0.5

I have just started attempting WILDs this past week and I had that same "darker blackness" running over my vision. So if that helps at all, still no LD yet. Dream Logging has been a huge help though.

i have yet to attain a LD but i was listening to some subliminal recall mp3 last night (look for it int he task of the month forum) with my noise-cancelling headphones in and as i was listening i realized that i wasnt lookin at my eyelids anymore.. and the darkness wasnt any darker, but it was.. deeper.. like there was distance between my eyelids and my eyes... i got excited and couldnt hang onto it though...

First up, welcome to Dream Views.

While I wouldn't recommend WILD for a begginer, you did pretty well there. Your best course of action I think would be yo keep your mind occupied so you don't get excited. Strong feelings of excitement seem to be detremental to lcid dreaming in many cases.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask us.

      Cool

      Thanks again guys,

I never really see any clear images in my eyelids when I WILD; just Balls of light and differant round shapes of light. I also see the light balls explode into a ring of light then form back into the balls.

      Has anyone else seen this?

      also...

I tried a few more WILDs since my first attempt and I now feel the tingle but also a "Strange feeling like my body is twisted into a spiral."
I do WILD's on my back but sometimes it feels like my body is laying on its side and trying to lie on its stomach.

      Has anyone ever felt this?

I'm pretty new at this lucid dreaming thing too and new to this site as well. All I can tell you is that I have felt the same thing. What you discribed has happened to me numerous times even before I found out about lucid dreaming, and it only happens to me when I'm on my back. The other day I had my first lucid dream (although it was more just semi-lucid) and I was experiencing the darkness and flashes you talked about which is usual for me and I always kind of get freaked out but this time I told myself to calm down and then suddenly I was in a dream, just like that.

Unfortunatly, it hasn't happened since, but I will keep trying. Good luck to you too!

      Lightbulb More Q's!

      Hey,

      I've tried some more WILD's

whist doing alot of RC's so I will eventually get lucid.

but everytime I try a WILD I see the lights (H.I.) and I feel strange (S.P.) but nothing else happens...

--How long does it take to become lucid during a WILD?

--How long does it take for someone who does a RC several times a day to get a DILD?

I don't understand why everyone starts to try WILDing right away. It is a pretty hard thing to do let alone master, if you are new to lding just try to get good at a few other techniques first. It will be alot easier to wild if you do.

Well, WBTB is something I cant do because I always move after waking up and I usally sleep through the night. I also do RC's multiple times a day to help with DILD's.

what other methods would you recomend?

Why can't you do a WBTB? Clairity's guide even recommends getting out of bed, and she also uses alarms to wake up at a certain time (you don't need to just rely on your body waking up earlier than normal).
      LD Counter (as of 07.25.07) = 5 (2 WILDs)
Short-term goal: Recall three full dreams a night for a full week.
Long-term goal: Have three LDs per week for one month.
Longer-term goal: Have one six-hour LD every night! (Shooting too high? We'll see.)
Waking life goal: Round up some NPSG equipment to study my own sleep patterns.
