Welcome. We're glad to have you. Read around and be sure to check out the tutorials posted throughout the forum.
Know that lucid dreaming has never been shown to be harmful at all. In fact, the opposite seems to be the case. So, feel free to venture into the dreamscape armed with the safety that lucidity can bring. Lucidity in the dream world can turn your nightmares into wonderfully pleasant experiences. There truly is nothing to fear but fear itself in the dream world so remember that nothing can harm you as long as you summon the courage to face whatever threatens you in a dream.
If you can train yourself to perform a reality check (RC) whenever you experience fear of any kind, you'll find that when you become lucid during a nightmare you can easily dispatch the threats and befriend the most aggressive of dangers. ALWAYS face your fears in dreams. Doing so is extremely empowering.
Dream empowerment leads to, not only pleasant dreams but, confidence in your dream abilities and powers. That, in turn, makes LDing much more obtainable. It also removes the SUB-conscious doubt that hinders dream success.
Anyway, welcome to Dreamviews. May your stay here and your dreams be pleasant and fruitful.
