Try to write a dream journal. Even if you only remember the dream very vaguely, write something about it, Even 5 words. This will help to improve the recall.

You can also try to wake yourself up during the night, and if you remember any dreams, write them down, again even 5 words if you don't remember more, it will help.

Make sure you sleep enough. For example if you sleep just 6 hours a night it can reduce your recall.

Another thing, avoid alcohol and marijuana.

      Hey maverikdemon,

Recall can be tough at times and its hard to remember the slightest detail. Okay you can try the following that have worked well for me previously.

      - Make it your intent the night before you go to bed that the first thought on your mind will be what you dreamt about, this thought of suggestion can carry onto the morning and when you wake up you may remember alot. The reason being that if you wake up and then think about the day ahead of you, worries and stresses you are likely to forget anything you dreamt about, make it the first thing on your mind.

      - Another thing you can do is just to intend to remember your dreams before you go to bed which can help alot.

      - Another is if you just go to bed without a worry at all, thinking that it would be good if you remember a dream but its not too much of a deal if you don't remember anything.

      - You could also try and make sure your not too stressed before bed, because if your in that state of mind before bed you will find that it may get in the way and effect your recall, try and clear your mind before you go to bed.

Just remember that any detail that you remember is valid as a dream, just write it down, because if you write down the tiniest detail you may have a bit of a flashback and remember the rest of the dream, its pretty cool You can also try getting up in the middle of the night to remember some dreams and then going back to bed, that can help alot, just remember not to get too frustrated over it, its not asthough your never going to remember a dream ever again. Best of luck to you!

      Hey there,

Some good advice already. Just two more additions:

Give yourself time when you wake up to remember the dream. Don't give up too quickly, and don't begin thinking on other things (like what you have to do during the day) too soon. If you don't immediately remember something, just lie there for a minute or two, try to blank your mind, and see if something comes to you.

You can also look at the dreams you do remember, and see if there are any reoccuring elements in them. Do you often dream about a particular house, a particular person, a particular event? Then focus on this and try and recall if perhaps you dreamt about this reoccuring element tonight. Even if you didn't, sometimes the association can be enough to suddenly spark up a memory.

      Hope that helps!
