Hi, I registered here about a week ago, and this here's my first post. I knew about lucid dreaming for a while, and even had, as far as I can recall, 3 of them in my lifetime (the latest having happened many years ago), but it was only 3 weeks ago that I decided to really try to get into it. I've been keeping a dream journal in that time, and while it was blank for many days at first, the last week or so, I've had 1 or 2 entries every day, which gets me encouraged.
Today was the most significant, which is sort of what prompted me to post here; first of all, the dream recall was heavily delayed - I woke up, and for 5+ minutes, I was convinced that I couldn't recall any dream. All of sudden, though, as I was thinking, almost the entire dream came rushing back to me. It actually shocked me how much I could remember, considering that my mind was just blank merely seconds ago.
Second, this was the first dream since my few lucid dreams when I actually questioned whether or not I was dreaming. One of my dreamsigns that I've noted is that when I run, I for some reason have a hard time, almost as if the force that I put on my foot doesn't all get to the ground. Another is that I find myself having to run - whether chasing someone or being chased. Both happened, and for a second, I paused and asked myself whether or not I was dreaming. Unfortunately, without doing any reality checks, I just said, "Nope, this is real, and stop distracting yourself, you need to get somewhere!" Has anyone else done something like that? It's a bit discouraging, but I'm hoping I won't make the same mistake next time.
