      ?

everyone says the best way to start remembering your dreams is to record them a journal when you wake up.

how are you supposed to record your dream when you dont remember them in the first place?

it doesn't exactly help you remember them...it's just...a good thing to have.

if you cant remember anything, sit down and think harder.
Then, next night try to keep thinking that you will dream, and that you are going to remember your dreams. Keep repeating it, and mean it. Then you'll have something to write in your journal next day!!

So you never remember your dreams at all? Or just really really rarely?

like this morning, i woke up suddenly and remember that i had a long important dream but the only thing i could remember was being at the supermarket either buying or not buying some sort of candy <?>

and a few nights ago i had about 6-8 times in my dream/s i became lucid for a bit and started spinning but when i woke up i couldnt remember the dreams or whether i was actually lucid or not. when i wake up it never feels real, it feels like i dreamt lucidity instead of experiencing it.

Just write down every details of dreams that you had. Your dream recall will eventually get better.

I agree with nightowl. I had almost the same problem. Once I started writing them down, even if they are just random images/colors/feelings/etc, pretty soon I was able to recall more details.

And even though I've been keeping a journal, there was 1 night last week where I remembered absolutely nothing. But I used to be worse.

Just try it for a while. You got nuthin to lose . Good Luck!!

The idea of the dream journal is to help your subconscious focus on the details and develop a higher interest in the dreams, so that you want to remember them and will pay closer attention to details.

It also helps point out dream signs, patterns, and will help interpretation and recall of other associated dreams.

You can even write down feelings...

To possibly help, set your alarm for REM times [5 hours into sleep, then in 90 minute cycles]

      Hey Nebulae !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of small tips about dream recall
      1. When you first wake up from a dream you will find that your recall will improve if you try not to move and to keep your eyes closed opon awakening. This will prevent, with the addition of some self dicipline, the influx of thoughts that are not pertanent to your dream that you had just had.
      2. Write down any thing you remember right away, not in the morning. You can forget about remembering most of your dream if you put of writing them down.

I know this all sounds like chores rather than somthing fun. Believe me. Anyone on this forum that has expierianced Lucid Dreams, I would be willing to stick my neck out and speak for them and they would say it is worth it.
