      Hello!

      Hello Follow Dreamview Members!

I have allways loved dreaming and sleeping. But in the last 3 years i have been getting less and less dreams, thats why im trying to improve my dream recall.

Last night i repeated "I whant to remeber my dreams" again and again. When i did fall asleep, I did feel like i was in a car that stopped real hard. I did wake up when it happend, and i notice that i had moved my upperbody forward, so i was sitting up in my bed. And then eveything got black and my upperbody fall down so i was laying in my bed again.

I can remember i had 1 more dream. But i can't remeber what happend in it anymore, i should have written it down.

And as you can see i have to practice my english.

In answer to your question Linker: Yes this is perfectly normal, they will seem like just plain memories when you first start but as you progress with your recall and you remember more, they will not only seem like memories, they will seem like you were actually in the dream when you have them, its pretty cool. I mean as you progress you become more aware in the dreams and yes they will seem less memory like, of course you will remember them still but you will have that feeling of being there in the moment if you get me.

Ok thanks, i got one more question:

Last night i tryed to wake myself up in my RAM sleep, i made my mobil vibrate after 4 hours of sleep. Then i fall asleep and later i got a dream (With people talking, i have not experience that before) and 10 sec later i wake up a and my mobil was still vibrating. And i saw that my mobil has been virbating 15 minutes before i did wake up..

Did the mobil wake me a little up, so i got the dream in real time, insted of a memory?

      Hey welcome to the forum.

      Its REM sleep

The phone might have had a small influence in your dream, but chances are you remembered the dream because you woke up right out of REM sleep - I tend to find personally I get better recall and also increase the vividness of my dreams if I awake about 5 and a half hours into my sleep. This for me seems to be my longest REM period and I remember a lot more dreams; everyone is different though.

I also find I remember a lot more dreams if my REM sleep is light, if I am really tired I tend to find falling into deep REM sleep is bad for my recal.

Anyway, walcome to the forum; enjoy your stay

      Adam.

      Thanks once again!

I couldn't remember if it where RAM or REM, so i did choose RAM (RAM like in a compuer)

Ok, i will try 5 hours next time i try. How do you know if your REM sleep is light or deep?

I'm not quite sure on how to define REM sleep, i think that the deeper the REM sleep the less aware you are, the dream may seem less detailed and more hazy. However i believe a lighter REM could be defined as in which you have a more vivid dream, you remember more, more chance of a lucid dream. Hope that helped.

Normally what I would do is make sure I have a regular sleeping pattern or going to bed and getting up at the same times with a deviation of about an hour or so. You need to know how much sleep you need to feel relaxed and not be tired in the day, for me it is 8 hours, meaning my REM sleep seems to be lighter than if I had little sleep and was really tired.

Then once I have extablished this sleeping pattern, I am not too tired when I sleep, I wake up after 5 and a half hours or so, then go back to bed after 5 minutes and will always have much better recall and vivid dreams - I use this as part of my technique for becoming lucid.
