      Smile Hello Everyone.

Hello there! My name is Ben, i'm 14 and I live on a farm up in Scotland.

I heard about this Lucid Dream thing from the "Official Playstation Forum", and the whole idea of it has sounded very interesting!

I would like to start trying tonight, so, what should I do?

      Hello Ben and to DreamViews.

Yup this is the number one place for lucid dreaming. First thing to do would be to do a little research and read some important threads in the Tutorials Section.

I'd then suggest you start on your dream recall by using a dream journal. This will be your most important tool as it will help you to remember your dreams and notice dream signs (similar patterns in dreams that usually happen, ways of telling if you are dreaming).

For Induction techniques, I'd suggest you try the MILD first mixed in with a WBTB.

There is also an Anagram List in the Tutorials as well to help you know some of the abbreviations.

      Hope this helps.

Hi there, welcome to the forum!

Tonight I'd suggest working on your dream recall. Get yourself a dream journal handy and try to write down any dreams you remember whenever you wake up.

      Hi, welcome to Dream Views.

In addition to the above advice, (which is very good and should be taken), I'd suggest you pick up the habit of Reality Checking. There is a list of RC techniques found in the Tutorials forum, here >> http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=4470

      Good luck with your dreaming.
      See you around.

      Hey guys.

Sorry, I just forgot all about this haha!

But, i'm gonna try tonight, so, shall I get a little notepad to write down if I can remember my dreams in the morning? Do I also say "I will have a lucid dream tonight" when i'm lying in bed?

A bit of help would be of much use.

So you did, but you didn't answer my question

Yeah some people use the dream journal section on the forum, others keep a paper version if they dont want to share their dreams.

As for saying "I will have a lucid dream tonight" it cant hurt, but not sure if this really works. Give it a go, there are a lot of techniques on this forum, not all work for everyone but its all about trial and error

No lucid dream last night :l

Oh well, will have another shot tonight.

BTW, Does it make any difference that i'm listening to music as I go to sleep?

      Music shouldn't hurt.
Don't worry about not having an LD. It doesn't instantly happen, it can take some time. Just don't be frustrated, and remember: you will have an LD tonight

Sorry for the double-post, but i've attempted to have a lucid dream 4 times and they have all failed.

You're like the third or second guy to come in from the playstation forums.... bizzare..
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Your fighting against your body to get lucid, dont worry about a few failures, it Takes some lucid dreamers a few weeks, some a few years. This isint a instant thing normally, work towards it, it takes time. but its so worth it...

      Hmm, this is queer.

I woke up at 7:00am this morning, and fell back asleep, during that time, I was dreaming that I was driving a go-cart following a car, I had complete control of the cart, but I don't think I was aware that I was dreaming.

      What would this be called?

that is not lucid dreaming. thats just..being able to drive a go-kart. haha, sorry to crush your hopes...but being able to remember that you dreamt that is a good start

lucidity took me ages...but its not hard...you just needed to put in the effort, stay committed and it will eventually come. And trying techniques (like repeating something to yourself) every night reduces their effect (when i try) and tires you out....FIRSTLY

just work on Dream Journal and Reality checks for a while...atleast a week or two and then have a look at a tutorial for MILD

      Wink ei!

hi!! i want to share a dream with you guys...
last night i dreamed that i was saying a word that i actually don't know the spelling of it.. then i find my dictionary and trying to find that certain word... i can't find the word i'm looking for!!
when i woke up, i realized that it's like because i really don't know the spelling of that word, i can't actually find the answer in my dream...
      get it??
it's weird but a realization for me that things which you dream about are the things you only know. i think that's the limitation of dreams.. you can't have a dream on something that you don't know...

i had dreams before that i had an invention but i can't explain it after i showed it. because in reality, i really don't have the answers..
