Welcome and good luck with achieving a LD.
I can assure you that it is an unbelievable and fantastic experience and well worth the effort. You will get plenty of good information, advice and help on this site but it will require dedication on your part.
Start with a dream journal, recording everying you remember from your dreams as soon as you wake up from them and do a reality check frequently during your waking and dreaming time.
