Thread: Hello everyone!

Well I was a bit wary when I first heard about LD (as in I didnt really believe at first). I practiced dream recall for about 2 weeks then thinking I mastered it, I tried to WILD right after. After me failing I decided to not bother trying LD as it was bogus.
I still doubted myself that maybe it was true and it nagged on me for awhile.
Well I looked up all the tutorials again, read through them, noted somethings down in my head and then at roughly 10:40 decided to try WILDing again with concentrating on my breathing and counting them off.
Well around 50-60 breaths (sometimes I had to go back a few numbers and take it from there because I forgot strangely) when I started to notice that my right foot, which was leaning on my left foot, was feeling strange. I couldn't feel it and I also couldn't feel it leaning on my left foot. After awhile my hands followed along with the left foot and it spread up my arms. In about 20-30mins (couldn't tell the time when I was like that) my arms and legs and part of my torso and mouth lost most of there 'senses'. What followed after felt kind of funny.
It felt as if my arms at the joints twisted around (360 degrees) and then my finger tips touched something (the bed but if I didnt see it when I went to sleep I wouldnt have known that). After around 200-250 breaths it felt like if part of me was still in my head, but there was another me about me and whenever I pictured the number of my breath I was taking that number would appear in my second self that was above me, but also in my head to.
When I started to notice that the sounds around me (cars outside and I believe a video going out in the living room) started to dim my brother turned on the light and I jerked up for some weird reason. Felt like my limbs, my body had no water or moisture on them and as if I was feeling a smooth object in the shape of my hand. It went back to normal in a minute or two but I was excited (I got excited during part of my arms going numb but I managed to swallow it down).

This is the second time I tried WILD but this time I believe it worked up to a point. I thought it was going to be hard as I didnt sleep for 5-6 hours first and did it right there. Going to try again and Im glad to have found this site as I wouldnt have been able to do this in the first place.

Hi and welcome to DV.

Sounds like you've got it. Now all you've got to do is find somewhere to sleep where you won't be interrupted by siblings.

Just hang on through all the sensations and you'll find yourself smack dab in the middle of a lucid dream soon. WILDing is easier at the start of a nap, in my opinion. If you've go the time to nap practice then.

to DV! I agree with Vex about WILDing, or sleeping for a few hours first. At the end of the day you can't really have a good quality dream, much less LD, if you're not in your REM period, right?

Maric, WILDing can be harder for some if they don't sleep some hours first (myself included) but I'm excited that you've found what works for you.

Hello, to Dreamviews!

Ok I tried it again last night and did pretty well.
I got further along and got to the point were I couldn't
feel my back anymore and it started to crawl up to my upper torso.
Is it normal for it to feel like my chest, which it also affects my breathing, to become numb like the rest of my body?
Also it seems like my eyes move crazily along the bottom of my eye lid.

Do I allow my chest to become numb as I kind of got a bit jumpy when it started to contract my breathing, or at least it felt like it.

Also, and sorry for so many questions, to be normal if your body feels hot even tho it isnt? It got to the point that my chest contracting in on itself and the heat that I decided to break my concentration and wake my almost asleep body up and realized that it isnt hot. (when I say hot as in really really warm around me)

The sensation of having trouble breathing is fairly common. Don't worry though, it won't hurt you. Also, the eyes moving is probably the oncoming of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep - a requirement for dreaming.

Do you know about the sensation of heat?
I know that its not hot but it seems my body, or it could be in my head, heats up greatly.

EDIT>Is it normal to have sounds going off in your ears, or seeing images, and if you dont thats ok to right?

Well it was a bit more eventful last night.
While I was attempting to WILD again (as it is crazy fun with the SP) around 80 breaths it felt like my bed fell over, then jumped over to the other side then dumped me out. I think I was in shock as I stayed quite calm but then it stopped and only had a few more bumps that felt like I was being pushed around a bit.
All in all it was fun and I was wondering what does everyone (who uses WILD)
do when they start to hit around 200-250 breaths and start to get bored? (or if you just start to get bored anytime)
