      Question about first lucid dream

      Hello.

I'm still new to this part of dreaming.

Yesterday, when i went sleeping, i have tried to get lucid.
I've done relaxing like on "progressive relaxation to jacobson".
everything went fine. i felt my whole body heavy like stones, and after some time a bit cold, frosty but not disturbing. (i was naked but i've used a pillow)
then i saw some strange pictures, with closed eyes, and i wasn't able to control them.
then my heart beats like i'm running a sprint, but it felt different as i were really sporting.
then i felt some kind of scareness which raised my heart-frequence again.
after some time it began to normalise it and i raised up and wonderd about that things.

      is this heartbeat-frequence-raising normal?
is it the clue to manage the scareness to get to the next level?
or was it not the beginning of a lucid dream?

thanx for your time and excuse me for my bad english.

      WELCOME BEGGINER!!!!

What you experienced seems like the beggining of a WILD. You can read more about this topic in our tutorial section. When it is your first time you might become scared, mostly if you don't know what to expect. There is really noting to be afraid about, as you will see, and you must try to be completely calm and just focus on the imagery...

I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

      thnx Thruthbearer...

      seems that you are right.

would you say that there's a limit on trying it out?
i really would try it again tonight, or should i do a break?
i was bit of scared but not that much that i couldn't sleep well, or thinking all the time of it....

You should be able to try it again tonight with no problems whatsoever. All I recommend is that you read the WILD tutorial and know that what is happening to you is completely normal. It happens to you every night, but you are generally unconscious when it does. I suggest you read all about it and try it, well prepared, tonight. If you know what will happen, then you won't be surprised by anything. Try to relax and embrace what you're feeling, rather than being scared of it.

      Good luck

Try it EVERY night, if you get a chance!!! I am so very jealous of you for getting so far on your first try!!! I've never even made it to the "pictures" you saw...

You're a lucky duck... Keep trying, from what I hear, the way you are trying to do it is the most difficult way to get into a lucid dream.

i think this WILD-technique is much more comfortable then the other one.
u must know i'm lazy and preparing it day for day, in reality, is not my favorite. so i tried this. and it took me approxiomately 20 mins to get to the "pics".
try those "progressive relaxation"-things. it helps a lot, in my case.

tomorrow i'll write how i did.
