Thread: Hello! Lucid dreamer signing in

Hello there!

I found this site while searching for lucid dream groups on Facebook. I have great interest in dreams, lucid dreaming and dream interpretation as I'm a natural lucid dreamer, and I remember almost all my dreams.

I remember lucid dreams from when I was 3-4 years old, and I thought it was normal until I got older. Even then, I was able to manipulate them to escape nightmares.

Now, almost all my dreams are lucid, though I usually only manipulate them during the mornings when I can sleep in on weekends, but I'm then able to dream whatever I want.

I also happen to be a 24 years old female from Norway, and I do accounting for a living.

Well you seem to be doing fine, having lucids to escape nightmares is completely normal because most people tended to do it.

I feel lucky for being a natural. I feel that (lucid) dreaming is an important part of me, but I unfortunately only have a few friends who have some interest in dreams and lucid dreams.

Yeah it's a shame about that, it's an amazing thing and really cool but only a small number of people seem interested in it.

I can understand why people who never remember their dreams might not be interested, but the rest of us. Hello! We sleep for like 1/3rd of our lives! How can you not care about 1/3rd of your life?

You are amazingly lucky to be lucid in all your dreams. Most people have to work on it. I too used lucidity to escape nightmares when I was a kid, and I've talked with others here and they've said the same thing, so I think it may be pretty common. In my case though, it meant that my moments of lucidity were never very long lasting.

Actually, I've read that only a small fraction of all people are natural lucid dreamers, though I'm curious about actual statitics. Even when I was a kid, lucid dream and nightmares could last for a while. I specifially recall dreaming about befriending a vampire on a train. He was trying to attack me, and as I knew he wasn't real, I asked him to become my friend. He accepted it.

I don't know if you've read "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge, but there is a chapter in that book that explains how to use lucidity to deal with nightmares. What you are describing here is exactly the right way to do it. In my case I would become lucid and then make myself wake up, which is exactly how you're not supposed to do it.

On Amazon. Many people consider it the bible of lucid dreaming, and it's not very difficult to come by. And yes, you definitely have to read it.
