      Am I doing it right?

So I tried to induce my first Lucid dream last night, and I was listaning to some of the good ol' Pink Floyd. I find it really relaxing and it stimulates my imagination. However, I found it hard to get into a good deep sleep. I turned off my music and went back to bed, got comfortable and the next thing I knew was my body was stiff and heavy (SP I belive). Which was good and all, I eventualy detached from my body, figurtivly, and drifted for a little bit. Constanty the entire time trying to keep in mind that I was going to be dreaming, and I wasn't going to drift.

Then I just laid in bed for what felt like an hour, motionless. Nothing happend and next thing I knew was I was waking up to my alarm (set for five and half hours after I went to bed). I woke up remembering this intencly visual dream. But I don't ever recal slipping into it.

I wrote down the dream, with the vivid detail that I could recal.

      Am I doing it right?

      Tips pointers?

      Thanks a lot guys!

      to Dreamviews!

Well, it sounds like you came pretty close to a WILD (which is where you get into SP and then into a dream consciously). Congratulations, you may not have succeeded but you got pretty far.

Next time, try sleeping 5-6 hours first. This will make it so that you can get directly into REM sleep, where you dream. It's much harder to get into a dream if you haven't slept first. Sleeping first is referred to as WBTB (wake-back-to-bed) around the forum.

As for the dream you remember, this was probably a normal dream that happened later that night. Which means you shouldn't remember slipping into it, as it likely happened a few hours after you fell asleep.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask if you have any other questions or I was unclear with something.
