      Hello there everyone!

Hi! I just decided to join your interesting forums spontaneously. I have read a bit about lucid dreaming around the forums and tried it for the first time last night. Now by what I have been reading here, it seems that you guys can take control of your dreams or at least influence them slightly during certain stages of sleep, but you also stress dream recall so you can actually remember it. I have always thought of myself as a sparse dreamer, only having dreams one time a week or so, but now I have been reading that I dream all the time, I just don't remember it. So I tried to force myself to remember it this mourning and I did remember a few details about it, which was interesting. I plan to keep this up until I can remember most of my dreams. I kinda know what a lucid dream feels like because I have had a limited ability to manipulate a dream, but often its only to change it a little bit, I still feel like I am not necessarily in charge.

The most common dream I can remember having is were I get into a fight with a kid at school or with some random person, but as soon as I hit him, my hands and arms are very week and I cant inflict any damage or even make the person wince. I wouldn't say its a nightmare, because I am not afriad and I can tell it is a dream, but it would be cool to be able to smash said person through a wall or something lol. I think it reflects my real life fighting prowess, which is non-existent seeing as I have never truly fought a person due to my peaceful nature.

Hopefully I can get a little better and start having fun dreams, like picturing architecture and beautiful landscapes. I also like rain and blue/dark storm clouds. I think I like storms because I live in and was born in a desert, so I associate it with the green forests of Europe, which I have visited a few times.

One question I have though is what the mods policy on discussing wet dreams is. Do you guys have a "no tolerance" rule or a "just don't get into detail" rule? Just wondering lol.

Dude, you can talk about anything on here. Sex is brought up a lot. The mods only interfere if one is posting porn sites/ pictures or is offending someone deeply (i.e religion, race, etc.) Though we do have topics for discussion on that point.

You can use those storm clouds as a dreamsymbol to help you to LD.
Dreamjournals also help one remember dreams more easily, and help you when you want to look for a patteren for dream symbols, or influences.

      Welcome and good luck!

Hello Dedrix and a big .

Does not sound like you have had a LD but maybe you have. When you become totally conscious of the fact that you are dreaming and you are still asleep, then you are lucid. Controlling the dream is another factor and achieving mostly takes attaining the skills and practise, like changing channels on the TV. You are either in the dream or click, conscious of the fact you are dreaming when you decide which direction you want the dream to go then click, back to the dream. Here lies the importance of dream recall and reality checks as you need to be able to recognise that you are dreaming to get back to the conscious state to control it.
Having a lucid dream is the most fantastic experience and one that you will want to repeat over and over again so it is well worth the time and effort spent in learning the skills and techniques to do it.
On your other subject, there are many topics discussed on a variety of forums and you are sure to find one.

      Good luck and again, Welcome.

I knew I was dreaming and I could tell it was fake, but I didn't have total control. I have one question that is probably asked a lot. How long does it take to really be able to control your dreams at least most of the time? Years? Months?

Looks like you've already been helped, but as someone said, the staff is very leniant with all of that stuff. If its not illegal, pornographic, or abusive, it's generally fine.
