      hello all

hello to everybody. i am excited to have found this community of like-minded individuals, and i look forward to receiving advice and insight from anyone willing to give it.

i would say that i am a moderately experienced lucid dreamer. during the first 24 years of my life, i probably experienced 3-4 completely natural random ld's. Then i saw Linklater's film "The Waking Life", and it just seemed to spark something. After viewing, i had about 2 ld's that month. I wasn't doing a journal (i have always had outstanding dream recall) or RCs.

I was thrilled. 2 in one month was a huge accomplishment to me at that time. Then i read EWLD and i was completely blown away. I thought the book was absolutely excellent, although Laberge gets a little bogged down with all of the exercises, in my opinion.

Now my problem is dryspells. I will have periods where i will become lucid every night for 2-3 weeks straight. However, i also sometimes go as much as 2 months without a single LD! it is incredible frustrating. I know most of you will say that it is a problem of focus. I think that is definitely part of it, but i also think there is something more.

I hope to increase my LD frequency by being in this group and talking and thinking about LD daily. I look forward to meeting you all and receiving your feedback.

      Hey! to dream views!
Congratulations on the LDs you've had so far...and don't worry too much about the dry spells. They happen to everyone

      Welcome to Dreamviews.

Sounds like you are a natural LDer and should not take much to master the skills necessary to encourage and control LD's and it is a case of learning the skills.

      Good luck and happy dreaming.

Hi Boognish! I hope we can help you out with that dry-spell. Those are very annoying; I'm in the midst of one myself. I wish I knew what causes it to happen.

The good thing about lucid dreaming--you get another chance every night.

Lucid every night for 2-3 weeks straight.. that's impressive!

I think everyone has dry spells where it seems like your dream mind just needs to take a lucidity "break".. I know I have them.

Definately being on this forum, setting a lucid "goal" to be accomplished and "speaking" with others who strive to lucid dream help with keeping my lucid desires alive.

      Welcome to Dream Views!
