      Hello All

Hi everybody, my name is Dann.
I'm new here, and at lucid dreaming.
      what else...
I love to run, and swim, cycle, backpack, climb trees, and really just any outdoor activity.
I've really only had one lucid dream, which I lost control of very quickly.
I tried to turn off a light, and it didn't work, then I realized that I was dreaming! It felt great. I walked down a hallway to get outside, but when I opened the door, I fell and lost it.
I think I need to work on my dream recall, and maintaining lucidy.

      Looking forward to meeting everyone!

      Hey, welcome!

Outdoor activities are gonna be great when you finally achieve dream control -- imagine riding your bike in the air or something

      Thanks!
I have a quick question for you,
      what does DILD stand for?
I'm assuming Dream Initiation of LD.

      Pretty much, yes.

DILD stands for "Dream Induced/Initiated Lucid Dream", this happens when a dream is just so weird or you notice a dream sign, so you realize that you are dreaming, thus triggering lucidity...

      ... Or something like that...

      Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Reality checks play a big role in DILD's as well -- if you're used to doing RC's in real life and then do them in a dream, you'll realize you're dreaming -- DILD!

to DreamViews, SkypeGoat! That's great that you've already experienced a lucid dream, and with practice you will have longer ones.

      Journals are good for recall.

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

You've overcome the first hurdle, experiencing a lucid dream. Future LDs should start to become more vivid and longer.

One thing I tend to do in a lucid dream to stabilize it is to really take in the dream scenery. Once you stop and marvel the world you created it makes the place more solid.

As for recall, a fairly stable sleep pattern and dream journal can work small miracles.

Hope that helps. See you around.
