Unhappy Inexperienced

Like one of the newbies here, I find it hard to get a WILD.
Lying down in bed, not moving a limb and trying techinques does'nt seem to get me anywhere!

While i'm at it, I want to ask a question. How does a H.I. look like? Is it seen physically or mentally?

Well HI is all in your mind, so seen mentally.

Many people have a hard time with WILD. I would strongly suggest a different technique, like WBTB + MILD!

Oh, and to DV!

Thanks, so an H.I. is seen mentally.
I tried to use WILD, with Sythix's Reverse Blinking technique, but I'll give a shot at others.

Welcome to the forum

Well HI can look like alot of things, glimers of light, orbs, weird shapes. Some people say they can feel a presence or see faces and stuff. It's nothing to fear. You're completely safe.

Btw, WILD is hard for newbies, try a WBTB with a MILD.

Both, you will actually see swirling lights and colours as well as faint images (all created by the mind of course,) but you will also see things mentally. As in, you won't actually perceive it as visual, but will have memories of having seen it. These are called memory footprints.

I thought it was hypnagogic imagery?

WILD can be easy too - you just have to get the right balance for yourself, waking up at the right point in your sleep cycle, not being too awake that you cannot go back to sleep, and not being too sleepy that you fall back to sleep quickly. Takes time to get the right balance, but with patience and practice it can be done. Remember rarely is lucid dreaming or the techniques learnt overnight; notice the irony there?

You can make WILD work easily with practice, once you know how much sleep you need before you wake up, and how long to stay awake for, then a successful way to WILD can be easy to find.

Good luck and welcome to the forum

Thanks y'all!

I had a non-lucid dream last night, when I looked at my 'name tag' twice, found out that the letters change but didn't realize I was in the dream!

The reason? I did the RC without intending to, which in turn makes me ignore it. How can I prevent this?

ok. see...here's the difference.

you can fall into the habit of thinking this

"I know Im awake...Ill just do a practice RC"

(which is 99% likely that thats what happened to you)

you have to stop and think with EVERY RC

"Could I Really BE Dreaming? What does this RC prove? What was I doing before the RC?"

if you think something like that. Only takes a second. You can do it whilst RCing you should have a better success rate.

Thats my 2 cents

In addition to the post above, a couple times a day slow down and look around, ask yourself, "Where was i an hour ago?"

My first experience with physical HI was great -- i saw these...eh...orb-like splashes of yellow light with multicolor edges and they started to swirl in a circle. I got excited and woke up

But otherwise, you'll just see pictures in the back of your mind and such.
