Beginner with a questin on dreams impact on normal life

I'm looking to get into lucid dreaming, and I naturally have a good dream recall without having to write it down. This is something I truly love about myself, because I can recall what I dreamt last night, last week, and even some "important" ones from my childhood. It's always fun to, to examine where the dreams separate showing where I cycled through the dream cycle.

Anyways, my questions were, one, if you've ever had a dream, or dreams, impact your actual life in any way, and, two, if you think it's okay for this to happen.

I remember in elementary school, I had a nightmare one night involving my best friend basically hurting me, and for a good part of the day, I was actually scared of him. It wasn't until I was later able to shrug it off as a dream rather than something that actually happened. Problem is, this still kind of happens on a more passive level today. One example, was that it was raining today, and I noted that I wished it would snow like it did last week, even though it didn't stick at all. Yet when I brought it up with others, they say it didn't snow, and it was then I was able to remember that it was a dream I had last week.

Hello Sollos and Welcome to Dreamviews.

When you are having a dream, you are living that dream and your mind cannot tell the difference between that and reality so it is natural for it to sometimes effect you reality life as it did with the fight dream.
The other question about dreams being an insight into reality, although possible, is doubtful. It is more likely that you dream as a result of a reality experience than reality occur as a result of a dream or that dream was a forcast of reality.

Hint. You may have excellent dream recall now but you will improve it by keeping a comprehensive dream journal and that is essential for achieving LD unless you are a natural.
The second essential is doing regular frequent reality checks, like 40 -50 a day until it becomes a habit. You will then automatically do a reality check during a dream and bingo, Lucid dreaming.

Again, welcome to the site and best wishes.

The only effect that dreams have on my life is that after a good lucid dream I'm much more tranquil and happy.
