Hi. I'm new to this site and thought I should introduce myself. I've been checking it out for a while and finally just got around to registering. I think it's great that others share this same interest. It seems whenever I mention lucid dreaming to people, they either look at me like I'm insane or say, "Oh yeah. I do that all the time." (i.e. use brief flashes of lucidity to wake up from nightmares).
I first read about lucid dreaming in Patricia Garfield's "Creative Dreaming", back in the mid 80s. I wasn't sure if I even believed it. But I cultivated the ability to remember dreams to a very high degree. About ten years later, I had my first spontaneous lucid dream. I was so excited, I did some more research and found Stephen LaBerge's "Lucid Dreaming", the book that has changed my life more profoundly than any other. I tried his MILD technique and was totally astonished when I found I could willfully induce lucid dreams with it. I envy those who are able to induce lucid dreams at will and hope to do the same someday. I've been at it for ten years now, trying different methods, and the best I've managed is 15 in one month (using MILD). So my search for the best method continues.
I've had one lucid dream since joining Dreamviews.
