First Lucid this Morning!!!!... I think

I was not well learned in the art of lucid dreaming before this morning, though I had seen waking life and understood how the reality checks worked. I was dreaming in my dream, and recalled the 2nd dream I had in my original dream to my brother. Because of this I then realized I was in a dream and decided to do the whole reality check thing on paper. As soon as the thought entered my mind to check paper sure enough, a small white rectangle appeared in my dream (with nothing but a black background) which I focused on and saw 4 blurry lines of scribble. All of a sudden I felt like I was grounded in another world, yet all I could see were vague colors (maybe I had my eyes closed?). The thing that really struck me was the music that was playing, instead of just hearing the music, I could feel it flowing through my body. All of this startled me and I was afraid I would not be able to return to my waking state (test this morning) so I started thinking WAKE UP WAKE UP!.. And I did.

Thanks for those of you who read my first "experience", I was wondering if this was actually a lucid dream or perhaps a bizarre sleep paralysis (because I was scared

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your lucid dream - because that's what it was!

If you realize you're dreaming - its a lucid dream. Its most likely not sleep paralysis, SP hallucinations aren't usually very long or vivid. Being scared doesn't mean you're not dreaming, dream emotions can be very intense.

I hope you have many more, and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

      Hi, welcome to the site.

Congrats on the bout of lucidity. Yes. You were lucid.
The great thing about LDs is that you experience things in a way that's impossible to in real life. Music in my dreams is unbelievable beautiful and I too can feel as well as hear the music. Next time calm yourself and allow yourself to absorb the world around you. It really is amazing to know and see and feel the universe that lies within yourself.

Hope you get lucid soon and see you around.

Congratulations. Lucid dreaming is superb. But even better is the process of getting them. We will help you with the process. Just ask.
