I was pretty good at remembering dreams when I was a kid too. There wasn't much to do entertainment wise where I grew up so dreams became a form of entertainment for me and my siblings, we'd tell each other about the nightmares and freakiness that was dancing around in our heads at night.

I agree that verbally sharing dreams with someone does something good for mind or spirit, especially if it's a troubling dream. It also helps recall tremendously when you talk over dreams. Trick is to find someone who isn't going to thing you're goofy for bringing them up.
