      First LD and a question...

Hi! I've been trying to have an LD since Sunday (it's Friday now) and I think I had one early this morning. I've been consistently using my digital watch to do reality checks to the point that I can't look at any clock and not think "Am I dreaming?"

Anyway, early this morning, I did a MILD/DILD and when I saw a clock in my dream, I did a reality check and realized I was dreaming. I did the first think I could think of (spinning around and rubbing my hands) but I woke up out of excitement, I guess...

Here's my question! Now that I had what I think was a LD, will they come more often, or was that just luck?

      Thanks!

welcome operationgold, Glad you could join us and congrats on the LD!

I would say that definately was a lucid dream, and was not just luck. It sounds like you are working on good reality checking habits and MILD can be quite effective as you may just have discovered. You tried to induce Lucid Dream, and succeeded = it was not luck!

And the better you become at observing and reality checking the more you will have, especially if you can simultaneously work on MILD.

      also,
Have you tried/heard of Wake-Back-To-Bed WBTB techniques?
Because these greatly increase chances of MILD occuring.

      add on:

Here is an excerpt from a Wake-back-to-bed tutorial

(WBTB) Wake Back to Bed Method

Getting up an hour early, staying awake for 30-60 minutes reading about lucid dreaming, doing MILD briefly, then taking a morning nap is an effective way to induce lucid dreams.

      Here's how to do it!

      1) Sleep for 5-6 hours.

      2) Wake up and GET OUT OF BED.

      3) Read lucid dreaming articles online or watch a dream related movie for 30-60 minutes.

      4) Go back to bed using one of the following techniques.

Step 2: you should start in that time frame, but if you cant get back to sleep stay awake less

Step 3: what you do while awake is up to you, just keep focussed on your goal to Lucid Dream

Step 4: here is where you use MILD whilst falling asleep

      Goodluck!

this was the tutorial I stole btw: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=5397
