      What do you guys think?

A bit of history in chronology order.
Couple of years ago I had a discomforing experience in bed. It's been with me in the back of my mind as "what the hell was that?" and never seemed to get an answer to it. It basicly went like this:
I sense something in the room, it aproaches me, its all black because I cant see anything; my eyes are closed and I cant open them, I cant move, Im shaking mad, grinning my teeth and it feels like Im being sort of mildy electrocuted. It all lasted only for a few seconds.
I figured I must be ill or something and dismissed it as a freak of nature, something missfired inside my brain.

Skipping fast forward to about couple of month's ago, I had another very similiar experience, some minor details changed, but pretty much the same tho this one lasted longer, about 5 or few seconds more. Oh btw, the overwhelming sence of fear is unbarable. (tossing in a brave smiley there)

At this point Im slightly worried, what the hell, sort of.
So I google it up and learn more about "Sleep Paralysis". Tho Im very confident my "problems" have been a product of this sort, or something in the same realm, its still very comfusing.. What is specificly is I mean.

Going further from that, I learn more about "Lucid Dreaming" and become VERY intrested.
I immediatly start a dream journal and let it hang by my bed. I've always had the "ability" to remember my dreams, almost atleast one dream per night, usually two. So getting started wasnt much of a problem.

Now, the intresting bit happens, wich Im here to ask you guys about what you think. Only after a week or two Im having two serious "paralysis" incidents, first one was just terryfying, very short, only a few seconds. But felt as if someone was litterally choking me. At this point it becomes real fussy, I do remember dreaming that I checked in the mirror for the choke marks and found them, but offcourse I didnt have em when I woke up. So, am I paralyzed when Im sleeping and wake up, or paralyzed knowing Im sleeping and continue sleeping? Its all a mess..

Second one happened yesterday infact (been wanting to make this post for some time, but put it off, now seems a good time to ask tho).
I was having a nap at the couch in my office, the building is completely vacated so I lock up all doors. I know the door next to my couch is locked. I settle in to go to sleep. Sometime later I sort of wake up and turn, noticing the door is open, at this point Im thinking to myself; "it cant be, its closed.. I better wake up and check it", its now I get a paralysis betwen 15-20 seconds, it was sick.. I even touk pauses trying to move my body.. I could hear a crazy ass sound in my ears, like a factory humming sound.

      Quesiton.. What the hell?
Sleep used to be king, now.. its not..

Well, that's what heppens when you "over analise" things. All the little things you never noticed are now all you see when you go to sleep. I guess it can happen with any other subject, only that here it's more subjective and hard to talk about with other people. Dreams and other stuff like that are very rarely talked about seriously. That's why we have a forum here, yay!

You seem to be experiencing a lot of sleep paralysis, which can be used to easily induce a lucid dream via WILD induction techniques. I suggest you check the tutorials section if you want to have a look at some of them.

So anyway, hello and good luck!

      Okongo, hello!

I think most of us have experienced sleep paralysis in one form or another and if you do a "search" you'll find TONS of postings about it.

You might want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful stuff: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25

You might want also to review the Newbie Zone Guide for helpful information about this site: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.

      Welcome to Dream Views!

I defently will, I just read about 3 WILD guides, and they seem pretty interesting, will defenetly have a go at it. Though my concerns are the vibrations, its one thing to know its just your body falling alseep, but keeping the irrational fear at bay seems a challenge. Do many peple fail at inducing WILD cause of.. fear?

      Hello.

      Sound pretty scary.
All I can say is overcome that fear. You now know it's only SP, a natural part of falling asleep, start over powering that initial fear. Once you do you may be able to step into a lucid dream from there.

      *edit*

      Welcome to the site.
      Good luck.

Yeah I know. I'm scared all the time ...
But in reality I rarely make it to the point where I have a chance to be afraid of trying. At the moment I welcome any hallucinations simply out of interest.

Oh man I know exactly what you are going through I've done that so many times but I havem't had one of those experiences in a while. But yeah I used to sleep and I would like be in a car or somerthign and I guess the car just does a huge turna nd I start haveing that fuzzy feeligns all over your body and I have the biggest feeling of fear and it sucks bad but I wake up finally and then I try to go back to sleep and it just happens again so I usually just stay awake for a few minutes and switch positions and I sleep fine the rest of the night.
