      New to LD

Hey guys, I heard a bout LD a while ago and last night decided to start practicing my dream recall. I got about a page and a half of dreams and details of them that I remember.

Now I really want to do this, right now I think this is one of the coolest things in the world that you can do.

Now my question is, can I do this?
Im just a normal person who dreams, not any special person who get LD's. So can I? Have any of you guys just heard about it and just did it? thanks guys

Yep! I'm one of those normal, unspecial people who heard about it and more or less "just did it." Anyone can, really. Welcome to DreamViews, and good luck!

Took me two or three days for my first one. Since then (November 20), I've had five. Three of them (including that one) went on for at least fifteen minutes, and two of them were in the minute-range. I would probably have had more if my sleep patterns weren't so messed up.

Curtis, anyone can learn to lucid dream if they are determined and patient.

You might want to review the Newbie Zone Guide for helpful information about this site: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

You might also want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful stuff: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.

Okay, I got a really awkward question.

My cousin asked me this and now I am really curiouse about it too. Now I was telling him about it and told him you can do what ever you want, and he asked me a question that I am stumped on too.... This is not a good question, quite gross but I wanna know...

If you have sex and ejaculate in a LD, will you ejaculate in real life?

Curtis, I do orgasm but if you're asking about a man ejaculating.. the best I can do is point you to this thread (and let the male members answer of course):

Ok lol thanks, and one more thing. I can't really find it easy to know when i'm dreaming, is dreaming just like real life but when we wake up we remember it differently, like how am I supposed to tell that im in a dream because something is odd? Its kind of confusing me.

      Hi,

Reality checking is the key. By simply knowing about Lucid dreaming and Reality checks, you may start seeing spontaneous lucid dreams. I stopped trying to LD in January, but now I have at least two LDs a month.
I prefer the "pinch your nose and try to breathe through it" reality check. It always works, but only if I am really confused and don't know if I'm dreaming or awake.

      Welcome to DV!

Curtis, lucid dreaming is merely the "awareness" that you are dreaming WHILE you're dreaming.

Lucidity also has nothing to do with "control" (meaning that you can be in a lucid dream.. but still not be able to affect any changes).

If you ever say (or think) to yourself, "I'm dreaming" and, once having said/thought that, BELIEVE it to be true? If so, then you were definately lucid.

If you're in doubt, do a "reality check". The reality check that has never failed me is the "plug my nose and see if I can breathe" reality check. If I can breathe through a plugged nose.. I'm dreaming! It never hurts to do your favorite reality check a couple of times or even do two different reality checks.. just to really convince yourself!

But the thing is, hard to explain, when I wake up from A dream a barely remember it, I remember some stuff I said and its different all the time. So is dreaming just like I am living right now, just I cant remember it as good.

      Take this as an example...
Life is a really high graphiced game, and to me dreams seem like super nintendo, crappy graphics.

Really it just feels that I have no control over my dream guy, that I cant do a reality check, get what I mean? I wanna get Lucid tonight for the first time, I think i'll try WILD or something. thanks
