      recurring bad dreams mystery help!!

i just joined and im a little worried about the bad dreams ive been having. I have dreams where im killing people, or watching people getting tortured, an abundance of blood, real horror movie stuff. the part thats even more scary, is that im not all that afraid while im dreaming it. im just sortof neutral, and when i wake up, im calm. Im not a violent person, and i dont even think i have any sort of repressed anger or anything. where could these be coming from and why am i having them almost every night?!

First off, welcome to the site!!

Oh wow, I don't know why you're having those.. I'm feeling frustrated, because I wish I could psychoanalyze you!

But anyway, have you tried to have lucid dreams? Those help a lot of people stop unwanted dreams.

Wow, that's pretty intense there almasquerade. I'm not really one for interpreting dreams, unfortunately. It's just your luck though, that recently a "Dream Interpretation" forum was just implemented here at DV. You might want to post that dream there too and see what kind of responses you get. Here's the link:

Good luck with that, and welcome to DV!!!!!!!!!

Hello and Welcome to Dream Views almasquerade!!!!

I also have very violent dreams. Like you they do not scare me and I am calm about them. My dreams don't happen every night though. Usually the violence involves people I love. I have not tried to stop mine. I see no need since they do not bother me. I also am not a violent person!!! There is nothing wrong with you. Don't worry about that. Just know that they are not real and once you begin to have lucid dreams you will be able to control them, maybe even stop the violence. If you need any more help please let me know. We are all here to help.

I truly wish you sweet dreams!!!

Killing dreams can actually be a positive thing. It could mean that your trying to get rid of the old and bring in the new. However, it could also mean that your going through intense emotional stress. The best person to analyze is you, try to look into your waking life and try to find connections.

      WELCOME!!!!!

I don't really think that you should worry about you having that sort of dreams. In case you don't want to continue to have them, I suggest you use them as a dream sign, and everytime when you see something violent you perform a reality check. By doing this you should be able to become lucid every time...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

      hey almasquerade

I seem to be repeating myself a lot lately - lots of people with nightmare problems of late.
What truthbearer said, is the basic idea. You need to learn to make that feeling of something strange, or frightening, or not nice - your 'dream sign' ... and whenever you have one.. you check if its a dream. You can read the reality check list in the tutorials for ideas on how to do that

I think this calls for a tutorial in fact... No offense to you almasquerade, but repeating it over and over is starting to lose its novelty.
So keep watching the tutorials section, I'll whip out a nightmare therapy tutorial soon
