      Hello!

Hi, I'm new here! Of course you already know that.. anyway, I was browsing another forum and someone mentioned 'Lucid dreaming' being easy to learn. I curiously searched it on Wikipedia.org and Yahoo.com which was where I found this forum! I've been looking around here for the last two days, and recording my dreams. Last night I wanted to attempt a WILD but SP scared me out of it.

I have a question about it. I'm easily scared if it happens out of the blue, so can someone tell me about if there are 'hallucinations' and 'strange disturbing noises' like I've been reading/hearing. Are they really sudden and terrifying, or relaxing, like I've heard/read at some places. I've also heard that it is scary at first, and ends up being an enjoyful experience. And, how do I face it without being scared into complete consciousness?

      Hello and welcome to Dreamviews

I know a fee people on here who do have slightly scary SP but personally I have never had a bad experience with it at all.

My SP is often very relaxing and I really enjoy the feelings it gives.

The thing is, is that its different for each person. You will never know what its gonna be like until you try but just remember that yo go through it several times a night every night and it has caused you no harm

Thanks, man. I never knew sleeping could be so interesting! Now I look forward to going to bed, hahaha. I should wait until after tomorrow to really focus on this, I am SOOO stressed out, it's Semester Week. I almost had a DILD last night, but I got too excited, darn it.

SadieM, I'm glad you decided to join us!

I agree with mark, I've only had one unpleasant experience with SP and I've been WILDing for over 9 years. I actually look forward to SP as I know that it's a sign that becoming lucid is not far off. I think if you go into it with a "positive" and "non-fearful" outlook, it will help alot.

As for the forum, you might want to review the Newbie Zone Guide for helpful information about this site: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=36723

You might also want to check out the Tutorials forum which contains information on the various lucid dreaming techniques and other helpful stuff: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=25

If you should have any questions, please ask and we'll do our best to get you answers.

      Welcome to Dream Views!

Hi and welcome to Dream Views.

Experiencing sleep paralysis for me was scary but that was before I knew what it was. After I learned about it and started using it to lucid dream, like Clairity, I started to look forward to it a little.

But then it just stopped. I rarely wake up in SP anymore and when I WILD I usually feel nothing more than a little shift in my mind that alerts me that I'm dreaming.

Since you know what SP is and what to expect try to just go along for the ride, the sensations or sounds that might come are only assurances that you're about to start dreaming.

That was the same for me when I joined, haha. I used to think sleeping was annoying, but now I look forward to it

Thank you, everyone! Last night I was about to attempt a WILD, but my mom took my alarm away. So I had to hope I would wake up. I didn't. Meh... I'll do it tonight, I promise!
