steps for WILD huh? well first i need to make one thing straight for you. It will be underlined because of importance . Everyone WILDs diffrently. There isnt one super WILD technique. The steps can be pretty much the same, but you might not get hypnogogic imagery, or maybe you dont get SP or vertigo or vibrations etc. Its not all needed. all thats needed to WILD is to stay calm and enter the dream state while not losing consciousness. sounds pretty easy right?

So while you're keeping in mind that you might experience these steps a bit diffrently than me, how i explain them, here is my steps

      1. go to bed at your usual time, and set your alarm to wake you up about 4-7 hours later. The alarm is for a wbtb. It is almost impossible to WILD without it. Oh sure there have been a few people that have accomplished WILD without wbtb, but not very many, and most people that try end up giving up on the WILD technique altogether cause they can't seem to get anywhere when they tried before bed without a wbtb. Why is wbtb so important? The answer is simple. When you wbtb you are closer to REM, and you are more relaxed. If you dont wbtb, you have to wait around 90 min to get to REM. When you do a wbtb however its possible to get 5-20 min WILDs its a much shorter time
so just always do a wbtb. You may have to experiemnt with how many hours of sleep you get with first to see what works for you though.

      2. After your alarm wakes you up, go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, and if you are still really tired, read up on Lucid dreaming. You dont want to have almost completed your WILD only to realize you have to go to the bathroom or you are too thirsty to finish. What a bummer that would be Step 2 is one of the harder parts of the WILD process because it could effect the whole WILD. If you stay up too long, you might become to awake, and if you are to awake it could take you forever to WILD. However if you dont stay up long enough, then you might be too sleepy, and if you are too sleepy then you will just fall asleep right through your WILD. Its all about balance. It takes lots of time to get everything just right. Sometimes even weeks. Dont get discouraged though. As long as you learn from your mistakes you are progressing and getting closer to accomplishing WILD

      3. We finally get to the WILDing part of the WILD Now you should settle down in a comfortable position. You dont have to sleep on your back to WILD, or your side, or your stomach or anything. You just need to be comfortable. Be mindful of any uncomfortable pressure points, or any spots that might become uncomfortable after a little while. After you have settled down, start to relax. And try to forget about your body, WILDing, and everything outside your mind. Just sit there and relax for a min. or two.

      4. after you have relaxed for a bit, its your choice to start somthing to keep your mind off of your body and keep you from falling asleep. Some people like to count breathes, some people just like to think of a topic and not wander from that topic, others like just like to let their mind wander. its your choice. There are alot of other techniques out there, and you might even want to make your own

      5. after a little while you might <--(key word there) see some swirling colors, some pictures, or scenes appear before your eyes. This is called Hypnogogic Imagery. We here at dreamviews abreviate it as HI. Some people get it, others dont. Personally, i get very very little HI, and it come at random. So i might not be much help with it. If you do get HI, just let it pass through your vision. Dont try and watch or follow it. This just wakes you up a little, and makes the HI go away.
You might also start feeling your body get heavy, or limbs going numb, heart beat accelerating, etc. ignore all these sensations If you focus on them, it just gets wakes you up. You are supposed to be ignoring your body and keeping your brain occupied remember? so try and ignore some of these smaller side effects. They just mean you are getting closer . They are very fragile though, and too much excitement could just pull you back awake.

      6. We finally come to the big finale. The vibrations/sp. if (not when) you get these you will know what i mean. The vibrations come with a strong sense of vertigo most of the time, and sometimes you might hear some things, like air rushing or people talking or stuff like that. Your heart beat might race, you might feel like you are sinking through your mattress, or falling off of your bed, or even dragged through the air by your foot. The biggest thing though is whatever you feel like is happening, it will actually feel like its happening. Not an imagined feeling, but it will really feel like its happening.
Now is the moment you have been waiting for. You might get so suprised/excited that the vibrations go away. Dont worry. Most of the time, within like 10 sec. The vibrations will come back. Just try to keep calm, and ride through them. after this is when you will know you are dreaming or not What i do to get through the vibrations is imagine im rolling off of my bed. During the vibrations, imagining something usually makes that feeling happen. I will then feel like im rolling off of my bed and on to the carpet. When the vibrations stop, if i can still feel the carpet, i will know im dreaming. if i feel the bed, then i stay still and hope the vibrations come back.

So there are my steps of WILD like i said before. Everyone WILDs differently, and there is no one super technqiue. You will have to find a technique you like, and tweak it to make it fit you. so here is a link that answers some questions about WILD, and at the bottom there are some links. Last i checked, all the DV links are broken but if you click on a link that isnt to dv then it should work. http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=41627

good luck! hope you get your first WILD soon

i have those links in my link, but they wont work for my computer
well i don't need to wake before, i get the vibrations usually within 4 minutes of concentrating on my breath,
you dont have to wake before? as in you dont do a wbtb? thats amazing man! i envy you

what should you do once you start to feel the vibrations?
i imagine myself rolling off of my bed. Try to make yourself go somewhere i guess. Try sinking through your bed, or something. If i just try and ride it out in my bed, when the vibrations are over im usually awake. If i use movement, or imagined movement, then it anchors me in the dream world i guess.

      Here's why: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=1886
The three dots are put there in the forum links sometimes, to make sure they're not too long. However that's not the actual page name, it's the abbreviation. The correct link for that one would be http://www.dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=1886
