      some guidance needed about dreams

      hello there,
just join the forum this morning & getting a bit excited about dreams, that's because strangely i can remembered the dream i have last night almost vividly 70% for the first time (as far as i'm aware of it) & as fast as i could noted them down in my first dreams journal
though it is not a pleasant one...

i just want to ask those who r into dreams a lot, how u classify your dreams as lucid (just heard of it) or normal? i have no idea what is lucid dream, can someone explain briefly..
how come, some of u can remember clearly the events throughout ur dreams, any method to do it? & lastly what so interesting about getting so much into dreams?

thanks for the enlightenment, I'm really excited to wait for the answers & guidance from you all

Lucid dreams are when you know that it's only a dream and understanding what that means. What it means: your entire world is just a figment of your imagination and there are no consequences for anything that you do.

Normal dreams are anything but the above.

A lucid dream is when you're dreaming and in the dream, something makes you realize that you're dreaming. People train to be able to do this on a regular basis and move onto having control in their dreams so they can do interesting things.

I think the best way to start is with a dream journal. Record anything you can remember from your dreams, every day. I've been doing a couple of things this week that seem to be working well for me. I've been telling myself throughout the day, "You're going to have clear and vivid dreams, and you're going to remember them in the morning." Repeat a few time before you're going to bed and/or as you fall asleep. When you wake up, make sure to write everything down. Even if you can only remember one thing ("I think my mom was in my dream") or even if you can kind of see an image in your mind but can't put into words, try to describe the feeling ("I think I had a bad dream" or "It felt really dark/bright"). Whatever, just start with anything.

Also, I've been taking b6 vitamins and drinking peppermint tea. There are lot's of things that people will tell you can enhance recall or how vivid your dreams are, but you'll have to decide for yourself what works best. I've sort of stuck with a couple of basics and done fine with them. b6 vitamins are supposedly good for enhancing dream vividness and recall, and I think peppermint tea is supposed to have somewhat the same effect.

Well, lucid dreams are a really cool thing to experience. It's like stepping into another world and being able to do ANYTHING you want. I'm sure people on here could give you millions of different reasons why it's interesting.

Hi and welcome to the site.

Just want to toss my 2 cents in, I enjoy lucid dreaming because it's amazing to consciously know and experience the universe that exists inside of me.

Not really on topic... but that is a great way of putting it!

You mean what's so interesting about a world where you can fly without wings, or say anything you want to your crush, or talk smack to the fuzz without getting arrested, or practice that new song on guitar until it's perfect and have the practice apply to your waking life skills, or just explore and discover new places, things, people, possibilities? You're right, I'm still not sure exactly what it is about LDs that gets me going - I think I'll keep trying

There does seem to be something of a "you have to see it to believe it" quality to lucid dreaming, though - until you've had one, you really don't know.
Here's hoping you have a lucid one soon!

thanks for all ur kind replies!!
just want to share what's going on in my dreams that i have last night

"it is actually the second dream that I have, I woke up at around 4.30am to get to the bathroom & back to sleep this is when I got this dream.
I was in this round pool more like a reservoir, clear water but its dirty at the bottom of the pool as peoples throw their junk down there; actually I also part of it, I remembered throwing a glass item more like a cookie jar & I can’t seems to remember the second item.
All of them happening when the water in the pool is about 1/4 , somehow I dropped my slipper that I wear into the pool so I decided to go down & pick it up or is it I pushed by someone – can’t remember, when I’m about to grab it the big flush of water suddenly pumped in it’s like a giant whirlpool down there I was tossed around feeling dizzy, trying to swim up & keep yelling for help but there’s no one there.
Strange as it is, at that time I’m more concerned to get my other slipper, still searching for it despite the dangers because of it there is once I was sucked in this big filter – can’t remember.
But in the end, I got it, wear it & start to explore the pool, diving down exploring the bottom part that covered by thick sand & mud.
      8.30 woke up of it."

what kind of dream is this? (i know this sounds ridiculous, just want to know the term that the dreamer use for this kind)

Being aware that one are dreaming, (awake,) in the dream, means it can feel just like it feel for you now, sitting there reading this, only you would know you also lay in bed..

Why some recall all of it, like whole life times, and some just recall the moment right before they wake up, I think has to do with experience. I been having "awaken dreams" since I was a small kid, and I still get better for every day.. Always learning new things.

What is so interesting about it, is individual, some just like the sex they can get there, some like only to fly... ..others explore the dreamscapes, asking around where the "bleep" one are, and which year it is and the like.. Etcetera..

      Happy dreaming!
