      first lucid dream experiment

      Hello everyone,

I thought I'd introduce myself by bringing up something interesting which happened to me. I am not an expert in lucid dreaming and I just recently started studying this.

I had been experimenting with brainwave generator and binaural beats, so see if they could really change my state of mind. So last night I created a preset, which I listened to from my computer's speakers, which basically goes as follows: 16 Hz to 3 Hz in 20 minutes. After 75 minutes, 3Hz to 10Hz in 5 minutes, back to 3Hz in 5 minutes, repeating for a few hours, then stays at 3 Hz for most of the night, until a few hours before waking up, the 10-3Hz cycle repeats. My results: Around 4:30 in the morning i woke up for reasons unknown, although I know I had been dreaming (not lucidly). I stayed awake while laying in bed for a while, the binaural beats still in the background, around the second 10-3Hz cycle, eventually i fell into another non-lucid dream. But during the dream I could feel my body being pressed and a tingling sensation. I also started to wake again, but as I woke, opening my eyes was very difficult and I could barely move. Sleep was pulling me in. I saw this image of a dark room with a few people in it, but something was extremely frightening and I wanted to wake up. However, I tried to "step in" to this dream and I almost was successful. For a fleeting moment I could feel the image become a real world. But the fear was too great and I eventually woke up completely again.

I did not have success for the rest of the night, but I believe I had made progress. If I am not mistaken, I believe what I experienced could have been a WILD but correct me if I am wrong. I would also like to know anyone's opinions on if the binaural beats could have helped or if this was simply coincidence. Looking forward to meeting everyone and I will enjoy being a member of these forums!

      Lightbulb

All sounds quite cool and . I'm new here also and by the sounds of things compared to the tutorials and explanations I have heard, the Binaural Beats sounds like they influenced your sleep patters, on the other hand this could have been a compleate fluke hehe.

Hope you do well in the future and post back, love to hear more

Hello and welcome to Dream Views.

I'm not knowledgeable about the brainwave or binural beats but it sounds as if it helped get you to a near WILD state.

Or, it could be that your mind was just intent on lucid dreaming and that intent was what brought you around to nearly stepping into a WILD.

Either way it looks like progress to me and any progress is great step forward.
What do you fear that made you wake up as suddenly as you did?
