      First lucid dream!

Well a couple of nights ago I had this pretty cool lucid dream. It was my first

      Before becoming lucid:
Ok so, I started out by going to school. When I walked in the door I somehow ended up in the cafeteria and it was lunchtime. There was only a couple of people who were at lunch. The lighting was really weird, it was like I was in a dungeon but at a really big room. There was like torches on the walls and that was the only source of light in the room. So, I go over to my friend and ask her, "Where do I buy my lunch?" (for some reason I didn't know where in the dream) and she directs me to a door to the other side of the room. I walk into the door and I end up waist deep in water. I have no idea how this happened but it just did lol. I spend a couple minutes walking around trying to find the food for lunch but I can't find it at all so I decide to just leave. When I come out of the door I suddenly am dry and my principal is standing there in the middle of the lunch room. I walk over to him and my friends dad pops up and starts talking to him. He asked him which class his son was in. After they are done talking my friends dad leaves the lunch room so I follow him. I started up a nice conversation with him and then all of a sudden I hear one of my friends voice saying, "He look it's Jack, _____'s Dad!" The funny thing though was that Jack is not my friend's dad's name. This is the point where I became lucid.

      During Lucidity:
I became lucid and it felt like a shock wave went through my body. My dream became really clear. I don't know..I can't describe the feeling more than that. So I run down the hallway knowing that I'm lucid and open the window and step out. I look around and just observe for a moment. It was like I was on an island. I look to my left and all I see is sand and a hill but I can't see over the hill. I look straight and just see sand. I look to my right and see a river and on the other side of the river is a jungle. I go down on the beach and walk around on it. I notice stairs on the other side of the river so I cross the river and go up them. As soon as I got up the stairs my landscape changed...I was in suburbs now. There were houses to the right and left of me. I then think to try flying. I was running and jumping trying to get into the air. I would run and then jump and stick my arms out but it wasn't working and all I was accomplishing was getting scrapes on my hands and knees. But then I said to myself, "I am in a dream, how could I get hurt?" and then thought, "I will fly this next time I try." and I just kept thinking that in my head. I then tried to fly and it worked! I started soaring around in the air with my arms out. As I rose above the tree's I noticed a big building and a lot of lights. As I got closer to it for some reason the building started to break and like a piller was starting to fall over off of it. I then thought that I was a super hero and tried to go and stop it from falling (lol)...It didn't work. It fell over and everyone just kept walking along on their merry way haha. I decided to go check this place out. It was like a giant carnival. There was tents set up everywhere and some places were stores. (I'm guessing this was a set-up from the place where I was on New Years.) I was walking around instead of flying and occasionally went into a store. This one store that I went into got robbed while I was in it. The funny part was that nobody even cared that the person had a gun except for the Cashier who gave the guy all the money. After I left this store I started to try to fly again except right when I was about to lift off I hear, Boom boom boom boom (like someone running in a house) and I awake to my friends sister running into the kitchen to get breakfast.

The funny part was that I had this dream at my friends house, the one who's dad came into the school looking for him.

Well yepp, that's pretty much it. I also didn't know if this was the right place to post this or not.

Hey Axel, congrats on the first lucid dream!

Its good that you noticed within the dream that something was out of place. Hopefully if you combine this with a dream journal you can enable yourself to be much more aware in your dreams and thus recognise any abnormallities. But seriously, well done on the first lucid, it was a good way to become lucid and its a good starting point for lucid dreaming. Do you record your dreams in a dream journal? If not, i suggest you do so, because if you can develop a good dream recall you will be able to feel more aware in your dreams and thus repeat what you did in this dream you described and achieve lucidity.

Best of luck with further lucids though, your off to a good start!

No actually I don't keep a dream journal and I should start right now I don't know why but I think i've always had good dream recall. I can remember 3 different dreams from last night except it's all chopped up like I can only remember some parts. But anyways thanks for the advice guys

      Welcome!

That was a great first lucid. You were able to make it last quite a while and do many different things.

I agree that you should keep a dream journal. Not just to improve dream recall, but to also keep track of your dreams and find patterns and reoccuring themes. Plus, it's a lot of fun to go back and reread them. If you start a dream journal on this site, you will also get to have others comment and encourage you. I have found it really worth it.

Congrats on the lucid. That's a nice bit of control you had even though it took a while to fly. Good one!!

I don't think I've said it to you yet so ...

      Welcome to Dream Views.
And pay Lucid Seeker some mind. That's some good advice he handed out.
      See you around.
