      Hypnosis?

When using hypnosis to induce lucid dreaming, is it normal for it to take a few days to work?

Also when using hypnosis, how often does the hypnosis have to be performed for it to be effective?

Hypnosis, like all the techniques just need patience. You might have to give it a little while when it comes to practicing lucid dreams.

NeAvO is right about being patient. Plus everyone is different.. what works quickly for one person may take days/weeks to have any effect on another.

I had amazing success with hypnosis, but it took almost 2 weeks to work properly.
And I was doing subliminal imaging at the same time... but I suspect the hypnosis was the real cause of my success.

Unfortunately, the second time I tried using hypnosis for a while, it didn't do anything

As Clairity said ... it varies from person to person as well as what you think of hypnosis.
