I love having lucid dreams and i'm very motivated to keep trying. When i was younger i used to have them all the time and would even be able to induce myself back into the dreams i liked the next night sometimes. However, this was until i was around 14 or 15 and i didn't even know there was a name for a dream like that. As i got older i found that alcohol and stuff doesn't go over well with this hobby so i had a gap of a few years where i suffered malpracticed.
Now that lucid dreaming has caught my attention again and i'm on the right track i'm having problems attaining lucidity. When i fall asleep... i'm passed out asleep. I usually can't even remember the slightest bit of anything and have random lucid dreams during naps in the day or recently one immediately when i fall asleep. Although, lucid dreams I always remember.
I have no problem whatsoever in doing pretty much anything I find interesting in a lucid dream... and once i attain a lucid dream i can use the spinning technique to jump back into it multiple times and sustain it for over an hour without problems. When I get a lucid dream I don't have to do a reality check ever because I immediately know somehow that i am LD and can even fly right off the bat.
I have a dream journal, i try and do reality checks everytime i look at the clock during the day, and I practice putting myself into a trance. I fear trying the MILD technique because I always wake up in the morning not remembering anything. Binaural music allows me to get into a deep trance but i can't feel or hear anything that i'm imagining... its like a mental barrier. I fall alseep to the last of my knowledge saying stuff like "I will LD" and "I will remember everything i LD." when i use MILD yet nothing.
Being a college student, its hard to have a regular sleep cycle so I figured on trying to master the WILD or TILD techniques which would best fit me as a person.
I know this will take a while to be good at but can an experienced person use the TILD technique at will anytime?
What is the probability of attaining lucidity for an experienced person with this technique?
What are some ways in which i could get my mind off of my body and surroundings and focus on my visualization?
A way that I can get that damn itch off my foot when i'm almost in sleep paralysis?
What is the best technique for a beginner to use or someone with problems like me?
I've been trying for months now but can only have LD's at random times usually about a month in between. The fact that I used to be successful at it when I never heard anything about it before frustrates me. Any advice from you experienced people and how many do you usually have? If anyone is successful with the TILD technique can you walk me through your thought process especially the part when you get those muscle twitches and hypnogogic images right before sleep paralysis?
