Exclamation Not writing down my dream for some reason:(

      Dear people,

Since somewhere last week, I have been having something weird about my dream recall.
Normally I write all my dreams down, as soon as I wake up. This is as far as I know about 3 or 4 times a night at least.
Since this week I have still been waking up, knowing consciously that I have to write down my dream, but for some reason I cannot explain I just don't do this and decide to go back to bed. In the morning I can still recall about 1 dream, but I lost the memory of the other ones and I curse at myself for not writing them down. Every night before I go to bed I decide: Whenever I wake up after a dream, I HAVE to write it down; Yet somehow i decide not to, although I DO want to. Does this sound familiar to someone or am I being weird ?
Thanks on forehand for any reply,

      Feist

Maybe you're too tired? I struggle myself when I have to turn on the light after a dream to write stuff down.

      Unhappy Probably not..

I have been having this thought too; however when I wake up I'm not that tired at all; and completely conscious that i SHOULD write my dream down...Yet I decide it's not important enough for some reason and go back to sleep...
Thanks for your reply though !

I don't mean to sound overly harsh but it's probably to do with willpower. You just have to make yourself write it down even if you don't want to at the time.

Keep it simple. Make sure your paper and pencil are very handy. Just write down a few key words. You'd be surprised at how just a few words can bring the whole dream back to you.

      Good luck.

      Red face

Fox and Moonbeam; your reactions were very helpful.
I guess I indeed need some more willpower, and I'm definitely going to try it with writing down just some keywords.
      Thanks both of you !

Yeah, I have this problem. I go into spells of just not bothering to write it down, even if I know I should, and I remember the whole dream. I don't know why, I really don't. It's hardly any effort for me to reach across to my Dream diary and scribble down a few words, but I just don't feel like doing it.

      You're not the only one

I got a clamp on lamp and attached it to my bedpost so i don't have to get out of my comfy bed to enter in my DJ, beats getting up.

Do not grow dependent on writing them all down. Once you get even better at this (will it ever end? ), you probably will recall more and more.. ..as you will forget less and less..

Thus if you keep writing them down, you would end up writing a book every time you wake up, about your life in another paralelle reality.. Alternative reality, fictive reality, and/or what ever you think of it..

I hope someone can make sense of that.

Anyways, I was just gonna say; This post reminded me of the one time I could recall writning down the dream i just woke from, but I was still dreaming, so when I woke up and wrote it down, I kind of lacked the first one I wrote down.. Hehe.. My head is disfunctional today it seems. I usally do no write in blocks like this.. :p
I know who I am, as I become...
