Major noob here, trying to figure things out...

Hello everyone! I must say I am very intrigued by his whole thing but first things first.I began my lucid experiences quite oddly, at least in contrast with what I've read on this site. See, I loved to listen to my music and enact 'concerts' in which characters from my favorite tv shows would be singing my favorite songs. Needless to say, this took alot of concentration and I eventually got so good at it, that I would enter what I now know to be the beginnings of te W.I.L.D. stages. Being just barely awake enough to still use my imagination, while not being able to feel anything like my hands and such.

Anyhow, eventually, I got very good at controlling this and could stay up for hours listening to music while still remaining conscious. The imagery was very real and yet was subject to my minds thoughts and manipulations. Anyhow, long story short: I eventually started to see wierd things after listening to the music when I decided to call it a night. Mostly water. In fact, it felt as though I would drown in the water and yet I knew I should try to, So I did, and the result was a lucid dream in that I knew I was dreaming and it was extremely real. couldn't manipulate it though although I did decide to have fun by goofing off in the dream because I knew it was a dream.

SO, my questions are: was this method particularily effective? Was the dream and the experiences mere flukes? And, since I now have a harder time reaching this stage of mental alertness, how can I replicate it or is it not worth it as far as lucid dreaming goes. And also, would anyon be familiar with this or am I the only one wh's done this kind of thing?

      Thanks in advance!

I just posted and am interested in this idea of concerts with tv show hosts...LOL! FUNNY.
Id say whatever entertains you, do it. There is no "supreme state" or plateau that i heard of.

to DreamViews, Sarge! It sounds like you invented your own effective WILD method.

I don't think what you did was a fluke, since people do develop their own best way to WILD. I think if you continue to experiment, you will get more consistent results.

You're way ahead of me when it comes to WILD.

Yes it was real, you used the same method of WILD as me. (Check out the link in sig.) Advertising again, but meh. Basically you are riding your Hypnogogic Imagery until it leads to a dream. <- This technique is in my opinion, amazing for those who love WILD's. I am not particularly a fan of them, so I never do them. I just realized I was taking part in HI's thats why it was easy for me to reach sleep paralysis. I say if you want to have another lucid dream, then try again next time you sleep! :d

      Much luck.

Well thank you all for your comments and welcomes. However, one thing I have had trouble with recently is duplicating the process. See, I used to use my music and my mind's imagination to get to the thresholds of WILD, but I began using the brainwave generator (for those who don't know what ithat is, you can follow the url to the homepage to read up on it http://www.bwgen.com/) but anyways, this was extremely effective for creating a sort of contained in the mind feeling but the effect was so powerful I was unable to keep the images in my head from dissipating. So, is it a bad idea to use the generator or is it just that I need to learn how to apply it better? Because I'd very much like to return to the state I was at before. Thanx.

      Welcome to Dv!

That's an interesting spin on the WILD there, well to be honest what ever works for you should be used as an advantage and that technique does seem to work for you!

      Congrats.

For most people WILDs are the hardest things to do in attaining Lucid Dreams. So congratulations on success!

Unfortunately, if you are just starting out it may have been a fluke. But if it worked for you, then you should work on making it successful again. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away again. Even experienced lucid dreamers will only attain lucidity about 2 times a week, but they will have long dry spells interspersed.

That is one thing you have to be aware of. In all likelihood you will not have lucid dreams all the time. Its almost like your etheric body needs time to adjust to the altered state before it will allow you to have another one. Therefor the more practice you do (even though you might get extremely disenchanted) the more likely you will attain lucidity as your etheric body is constantly adjusting to your new way of developing consciousness.

Ah, now that is helpful, thank you very much. I had not known there were dry spells even for experienced lucid dreamers..

I do that sometimes, never made an effort to beforehand or put any real thought into it, but I occasionally will be dosing in my bed thinking about things and my thoughts will bring me to a song that I'll then kind of "hear" in a real fluid though not very vivid sort of way. Interesting how real dream music is.

      something like 4 "DEILD" method
