I have a couple of questions...

Hey everyone! I'm totally new to this LD stuff, so naturally I have some questions!

First of all, I woke up at 10 and wrote down the dream I had. Then I fell back to sleep... but I'm not sure if I was lucid or just dreaming that I was lucid. Haha! Is that possible? Because I "woke up" in a different room and when I got up I rubbed my hands together and it was dark so I opened my eyes. I didn't do an RC right away, I wasn't in control. But then I started to notice little things that weren't right (like clocks and computers and TVs) but I still didn't think much of it. A few seconds later I woke up... Was I just almost barely lucid or something?

Also... I've been trying to WILD and I have trouble when I get to the relaxing part. I have to change positions a lot before I can fall asleep, otherwise I'm laying there miserable. I'll start feeling really numb and see things and hear things, but I can't drift off because I feel like I need to roll over. Do I just need to learn to suck it up?

First question: Not really a lucid dream, but on the threshold to lucidity so to say. We call that kind of dream you had a false awakening. You should have done a RC.

You are much more likely to succeed if you manage to lie still when it comes to WILDs. Maybe your bed isn't so comfortable? You are well on your way though, when you see and hear things.

      Hey digiBOOM (cool name )

      Welcome to DV,

In answer to your first question, yes you can dream you had a lucid dream. However, i think what happened to you was that you had a partial/close lucid dream, but you were having a very low lucidity lucid dream. You don't have to be in control to be lucid, you can always just be aware and have no control whatsoever. But by the sounds of things you did have one, but it was very low level, i also sense some uncertaincy also when it came to judging whether or not its a dream, you need to always remember that no matter what you need to check, its harder in the dreamscape, but give it a conscious effort, tell yourself to remember to do it.

In terms of that problem, many people have had it, i think its mind over matter, i think you need to divert your mind to something else, concentrate on something else rather than your uncomfortable feeling, just ignore it, block it out, thats all i know of, there maybe better methods, but i am unsure, but just try and block it out as best you can by diverting your focus, say focus on your legs or what not, use your imagination, i know what it can be like though. Just keep at it, best of luck.

Thanks so much! This helps a ton. I'm trying to think of other questions I can ask, but most of them are just habits I need to change.

And thanks for the compliment, Lucid Seeker!

Yes! You were almost there. False awakenings seem to happen a lot after someone becomes aware of lucid dreaming, and are a great way to become lucid.
