A week and a half after starting to work on my dream recall and this morning I had my first LD.
I had woken up about 5 times in the night to write down dreams. The final time I woke it was about an hour and a half before I had to get up so I decided to try to MILD.
I think I fell asleep though and I went into a dream where I was just walking up the stairs to my room (no idea how I got there). I started getting ready to go to bed, shut the door so I could get changed, tried to turn the light on and nothing happened. I tried all three lights in my room, none of which worked except one which gave off a tiny TINY amount of light that I couldn't actually see by. It was about this time I realised, "Hey, I'm probably dreaming.". I pinched myself to check and I couldn't really feel it. I could feel the pressure of my fingers but no pain (odd sensation. like getting surgery under local anasthetic).
I got really really excited because I've wanted to LD so badly ever since I first read about it. I think it was because I got so excited, the world started to feel..... less real. I could just tell that I was waking up without any real reason.
I tried the spin thing to stay in the dream as well as rubbing my hands together but by this point I had already started to be able to feel my body lying in bed again although I could still see my room from where I was standing in the dream.
I woke up about then.
Anyway, I'm so excited/amazed now that I know that I can LD.
Now just to master a proper induction technique as opposed to DILD.
Thanks so much to everyone who's given me advice/support over the last week and a half. I really appriciate it.
So long and sweet (lucid) dreams.
