      Insufficient Dream Recall?

I am usually able to remember 3-4 dreams a night, give or take. Although I have a really bad tendency to forget to write them down when I wake up after every REM cycle, which I do almost always wake up after. However, I sort of run over the dream in my head a bit before I end up falling back asleep.
I can usually still remember parts of or most of at least 3-4 dreams after waking up and as the day goes on.
For example, as of typing this, I can remember almost all of about 4 dreams I had last night. Would you say this is insufficient dream recall and I should really try focusing on writing them down?
Also, as a quick bonus question for anyone who wants to answer it for me, as far as Dream Signs go. A serious 90% of my dreams end up taking place in my old house, the one I grew up in, or the surrounding area. I am never there anymore so its hard for me to think to do reality checks of it during the day but is it enough to think of it and imagine that I should do reality checks should I see it or be there in a dream?
      Thanks in advance.

I never wake up after a REM period and nor do I remember 3-4 dreams a night... Just put your mind to it, write it down or use a Tape-recorder.

Let your dream journaling become a habit. Write down your dreams. The simple act of putting pen to paper to record them helps to whip your mind and body into prime dream recall and recording shape. I don't wake up after my REM cycles to record my dreams. Most come back to me when I wake up in the morning and I quickly jot down a sentence or two to summarize the dreams. When I have the time later I write them out in full.

And try to write out the dreams sooner rather than later. Dream details can fade quickly.

In my case, if I wait too long to write out my dreams the first things that fade are conversations I've had in the dream. I remember the jist of them but not the exact words of the convo.

About the reality checking with the old house, it might be enough to imagine the place. Even better if maybe you could get a picture of it. Look at the picture every so often and reality check when you see it.

If your remembering four dreams a night your doing pretty well. I remember three dreams on a good night and the details are often sketchy. Nevertheless I would recommend that you get into the habit of writing them down.

Wow your lucky with that dream sign, my dream recall is as good as yours but my dreams are too random for me to find anything common. Iv recorded over two dozen dreams and nothing.
