      Dream recall

I seem to have my best recall between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, I don't recall very many dreams from the rest of the night and those which I do recall are not very vivid. This is especially annoying as I very often have to get up at 7:30 am 5-6 days a week. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I can do to improve my recall?

I am no expert, I am new myself. I have heard though that keeping a dream journal can greatly increase your dream recall skills. People who talk about the dreams they experienced have an easier time remembering future dreams. Writing your dreams down once you wake up also works. This remembering can almost me viewed as a brain muscle. The more you work it out the stronger (more efficient) it gets. Hope this helps!

Dreams occur every 90 minutes during your night time sleep( not representative of daytime naps)

      Breakdown:

Dream period begins: ---------dream period last:
      1:30 hours ------------------- 5 mins
      3 hours ---------------------- 10 mins
      4:30 hours ------------------- 15 mins
      6 hours ---------------------- 30 - 60 mins

if you want to get better dream recall and it is not coming naturally, set your alarm clock to correspond with your dreaming so that you will wake up just as the dream ends and it will be fresh in your mind. Keep a dream journal to write down your dreams(or a voice recorder like me) and your mind will know that dream recall is important to you and work harder to remember.

I already keep a dream journal and it has helped my dream recall but only between 6 and 9 am.

I recalled and recorded a dream at 2:30 am last night and more to the point it was very realistic. So much so that initially I didn't record it in my dream journal because I thought it had actually been real. I had eaten a bar of dark chocolate prior to going to bed, could this have been the trigger?

I think the reason it was so vivid and easy to recall is that you probably had just woken up during your dream cycle.
Some people say that chocolate helps with vividness.
Congrats on your dream recall so far.
